Grasping that advantage, in recent years, spiritual cultural tourism has been known as a prominent type, attracting tourists to the Ancestral Land at the beginning of the New Year.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin in 2024, Phu Tho welcomed nearly 565,000 tourists and people from inside and outside the province to visit and sightsee at tourist areas and spots in the area. Of which, the number of overnight guests is estimated at 11,180, the average room occupancy rate of tourist accommodation establishments is about 45%; tourism service revenue is estimated at 121.8 billion VND.

Identifying the Lunar New Year holiday as the time when the demand for spring travel, sightseeing, worship and relaxation of tourists increases, districts, cities and towns in the province have promptly announced the schedule of cultural, sports and tourism events (especially traditional folk cultural, entertainment and recreation activities, in accordance with civilized lifestyle, customs and good cultural traditions of the nation) during the Lunar New Year At Ty; tourist resorts and areas have also deployed a variety of unique products and services to serve people and tourists during the spring travel.

According to the Company's customer survey, most tourists participating in tours during and after the Lunar New Year holiday are domestic tourists. With the diversity of spiritual and cultural tourism products, the tourism market during Tet and January festivals has been creating momentum to stimulate tourism demand, promoting the excitement of Spring tour products in Phu Tho.

The Au Co Temple Relic Site (Ha Hoa District) is urgently completing the landscape and environmental renovation stages before the Au Co Temple Festival at At Ty 2025.

Preparation efforts

This year, the early announcement of the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday not only creates more options for tourists to travel, but also helps localities, cultural and tourist areas and destinations, and travel businesses in the province have time to develop plans, prepare facilities, human resources, and services to distribute tourists, and reduce pressure on transportation and tour guides during peak days.

To ensure all preparations are carried out synchronously and effectively, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued a document directing and guiding localities, management boards of tourist areas and destinations, and tourism businesses to develop plans and proactively prepare necessary conditions to serve tourists.

In particular, it is emphasized that localities need to strengthen State management and destination management; regularly organize inspections and control of tourism service business quality at tourist accommodation establishments, tourist areas, attractions, restaurants, entertainment establishments, passenger transport businesses, tour guide activities; deploy measures to ensure security and safety for tourists; coordinate with competent authorities to control, detect, prevent and resolutely and promptly handle violations of the law that affect tourism activities....

As the locality that "opens" the series of Spring festival events in the province, this year, Ha Hoa district has announced early the attractive cultural events within the framework of the Au Co Temple Festival lasting from December 25, the year of Giap Thin to January 7, the year of At Ty such as: Incense offering ceremony to Au Co (December 25, the year of Giap Thin); the opening program of Au Co Temple Festival and the organization of wrapping, cooking banh chung, pounding banh giay (January 6, the year of At Ty); Incense offering ceremony on the day of the First Descendant (January 7).... so that travel businesses, people and tourists can promptly grasp.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Thao - Head of the Department of Culture and Information of Ha Hoa district said: This year, Ha Hoa district is expected to welcome over 3,500 visitors to visit the Spring Festival and participate in the festival. Currently, all works on landscape, environment and festivities at the Au Co Temple relic site; work on ensuring security, order, traffic safety; food safety and hygiene, and accommodation services at destinations in the district are being urgently completed.

The province currently has over 300 accommodation establishments, including 32 hotels with 892 rooms. To ensure the reception of tourists during the Lunar New Year 2025, the People's Committees of districts and cities in the province are actively directing hotels, resorts, homestays, etc. to strictly comply with regulations on fire prevention and fighting, arrange enough human resources and other conditions to serve tourists attentively, and ensure food safety and hygiene. With efforts in preparation, the Spring - Lunar New Year 2025 tourism activities in the province promise to contribute to creating a beautiful image and attractiveness of spiritual and cultural tourism products, making Phu Tho an attractive destination rich in identity in the hearts of tourists from all over the world.
