Recently, Da Nang voters reported that GFDI Company mobilized capital, then lost the ability to pay 7,541 customers with a total outstanding principal of more than 3,700 billion VND, thereby showing the problem of laxity in state management of finance and investment.
Thousands of people are victims of GFDI Company after this enterprise declared bankruptcy.
Responding to the above comments, the Danang Department of Finance said that the unit does not directly monitor and manage this enterprise, so it has consulted relevant agencies (Department of Planning and Investment, Tax Department, State Bank of Vietnam, Danang branch, Police).
According to the Danang Department of Finance, GFDI Investment Consulting Company Limited (GFDI Company) was granted a business registration certificate for the first time in 2018, registered for the 7th change in 2023, with a charter capital of 80 billion VND.
At the time of initial registration, the enterprise only registered to operate in the investment consulting industry, and now the total number of industries is 60.

The regulation also stipulates state management of conditional investment and business sectors and professions, conditional market access sectors and professions for foreign investors and inspection of compliance with business conditions of enterprises under the authority of specialized agencies.
Initially, Da Nang City Police determined that GFDI Company was unable to pay 7,541 customers, with a total outstanding principal of more than 3,700 billion VND.
Regarding the inspection and examination of business activities, through the review from 2018 until before GFDI Company encountered legal problems, this enterprise was not included in the above inspection and supervision rounds.
At the same time, the business registration authority has not received any petitions or complaints from organizations and individuals related to the company's operations, so the authorities have not yet organized any inspections or audits.
To date, the business registration authority has issued a notice requiring businesses to report on their compliance with the law on enterprises. In case the company fails to submit a report, the business registration certificate will be revoked.
Regarding the implementation of tax obligations, the tax authority has not yet conducted tax finalization inspections at taxpayers' headquarters since moving operations to Cam Le district (Da Nang). The selection of taxpayers to plan tax file inspections at the tax authority's headquarters or inspections at taxpayers' headquarters is carried out in accordance with the correct procedures.
Regarding tax policy compliance, the company declares value added tax quarterly and submits it to the tax authorities as prescribed (from the first quarter of 2022 to the third quarter of 2024).
The company also prepares corporate income tax and personal income tax finalization reports for 2022 and 2023 and submits them to the tax authorities. The company also has no tax debts and has not been subject to any administrative penalties for tax violations.
The tax authority has managed and inspected the company's operations in accordance with its functions and duties.
However, the tax authority also needs information and coordination from citizens regarding entities that use the name of organizations and enterprises to mobilize capital similar to GFDI Company to promptly monitor and take preventive measures to avoid causing property damage to citizens.
Currently, the City People's Committee has directed the police force to verify and investigate the incident at GFDI Company and handle it according to regulations.
