On October 2, flood on the Red River through Hanoi peaked at alert level 1.
Recorded in residential areas in Hong Ha ward, rising river water isolated many residential areas.
In the middle of the sandbank, many people still stay at home. The hamlets near the river are now submerged in the vast water. The road here is 2-3 meters deep, only accessible by boat.
As the river water rose rapidly, many people were unable to move their belongings in time. Others tried to stay and watch over their belongings.
Mr. Van Huu Tinh has a house near the middle of the beach, near Long Bien bridge. He has moved to another place but still comes back twice a day to check on his belongings and take care of his 5 dogs and chickens clinging to high objects.
From lane 76 An Duong to the residential areas is about 2km. Each trip by boat takes about 30 minutes.

The road home of many people is now flooded.
People living in the Red River sandbank area travel by boat to the end of lane 76 An Duong to go ashore to avoid flooding.
Mr. Son's house was submerged. The floodwaters rose so quickly that they could not move their belongings. Reluctantly, he and a relative had to stay behind to look after the property, receiving daily supplies from relatives.
Floating houses in the middle of the Red River floodwaters are the only place people can stay in this area.
The roads in the middle of the beach were also flooded, motorbikes could only move a short distance. Some households had to walk for kilometers to get home.
People live during the peak flood days. Meals are hastily cooked on tables near the water's edge.
Taking advantage of the flood, some people cast their nets to catch fish in the hope of "salvaging" during the days of rising water.
Many agricultural tools were also cleaned up to prevent strong water from washing them away.
Plastic cans are household items that can be used as buoys to move when encountering large water currents.
Furniture and pets were also moved to higher ground to escape the flood.
Twice a day, Mr. Tinh often returns home to visit his five dogs and chickens. The man said that if he is not careful, he can easily be robbed by boats from the river and steal his belongings.
The man's meals these days are also quicker and simpler. He also does not forget to bring food for the dogs that have been hungry for quite a while.
By late afternoon, the water had receded but remained high. Dozens of people were still waiting for boats to take them across the Red River.
