Other passengers restrained and held the man until the plane landed. The incident occurred shortly after take-off of flight EJU4429. When the plane arrived in Lyon, police took the passenger off the plane for a medical examination.
According to police, the 26-year-old Portuguese man suffered from symptoms of airsickness and delirium. He was taken to a hospital in France for treatment. After the incident was resolved, the flight continued its journey and arrived in Porto as scheduled.
