- On the afternoon of October 3 (ie August 12 of the lunar calendar), at the monument of comrade Hoang Van Thu (Luong Van Tri ward ) , the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the Hang Pinh festival in 2025 .
Attending the program were leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches, sectors and associations; representatives of leaders of Luong Van Tri and Ky Lua wards, a number of schools in the province, along with a large number of ethnic people in the province and tourists from near and far.
Lang Son is a mountainous province located in the Northeast of the country, with a long history and cultural tradition, the land of convergence and residence of 7 main ethnic groups, including the Tay and Nung. Through the process of construction, formation and development, the Tay and Nung ethnic communities in Lang Son province still preserve cultural characteristics imbued with national identity. A typical example is the Hang Pinh festival - a festival expressing the Tay and Nung identity and connecting the community.
According to the Tay and Nung ethnic groups, “Hang” means market, “Pinh” means baked cake. This is the market to buy baked cakes on the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups in Lang Son. According to tradition, every year on the 12th day of the 8th lunar month, the Tay and Nung ethnic groups inside and outside the province flock to Lang Son city to attend the Hang Pinh festival. In recent years, the location of the Hoang Van Thu monument and the Lang Son Provincial Museum (Luong Van Tri ward) has become the place where the Hang Pinh festival takes place. Coming to the Hang Pinh festival, people often wear their most beautiful ethnic costumes, go together to buy baked cakes for the Mid-Autumn Festival, enjoy baked cakes and sing sli, luon, and then folk songs.
The Hang Pinh Festival is a space for ethnic groups in the province to meet, exchange feelings, express solidarity and close ties among the people. This is a unique cultural beauty, a community activity that attracts a large number of ethnic groups to participate, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the unique traditional cultural values of Lang. At the program, delegates, local people and visitors from near and far enjoyed the special Then, Sli and Luong singing performances praising Lang Son homeland; visited the cultural space of the ancient Ky Lua market and experienced making moon cakes. On this occasion, the festival organizers presented 20 Mid-Autumn gifts to outstanding students with difficult circumstances of Chi Lang Primary School, Luong Van Tri Ward.
According to the plan, on October 3 and 4 (August 12 and 13 of the lunar calendar), at the Monument of Comrade Hoang Van Thu and the Provincial Museum, there will be many special activities such as visiting the cultural space of Ky Lua market; experiencing making moon cakes at the Provincial Museum; exchanging then singing, sli singing, luong singing, organizing folk games such as grass-pulling, stilt walking, lion and cat dancing...
