On August 22, the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City held a press conference to announce the event "Da Nang City Innovation and Startup Festival - SURF 2024".
Accordingly, the official event will take place on August 29 and 30, 2024 at Danang University of Technology (Lien Chieu District, Danang City) with the theme "Reaching Creativity - Connecting Globally".
This is an annual event for the innovative startup community in Da Nang city; gathering participation and connecting many elements of the startup ecosystem.
With the message "Da Nang - City of innovation", SURF 2024 includes many outstanding activities such as: exhibition on innovative start-up activities on virtual reality exhibition platform with the participation of more than 90 booths.
In addition, the Innovation and Startup Competition attracted 30 teams to participate and went through 2 rounds. The final round is scheduled to take place on August 29 and awards will be presented at the opening session of the Innovation and Startup Festival in Da Nang City.
Within the framework of the event, many seminars were also held such as: Danang - Korea - Singapore Innovation Investment Connection Seminar; Scientific Seminar "Pioneering Technology - Sustainable Startup"; Scientific Seminar "Model and Network for Developing Student Startup Clubs in Danang City"; Seminar "Connecting Innovation Space in Danang - Seoul".
At the press conference, Ms. Le Thi Thuc, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City, discussed a number of issues related to Resolution No. 136 of the National Assembly, which was recently passed on June 26, 2024, on the organization of urban government and piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang City. Among them are 4 groups of specific policies on science - technology, innovation with breakthroughs, removing many current bottlenecks and obstacles.
Through the event, the Organizing Committee wants to contribute to promoting innovative startups, improving the capacity of the ecosystem's actors, strongly connecting the network of experts, consultants, investors, the startup community and attracting participation, connecting investment between the ecosystem's components inside and outside the city as well as international partners.
