Temporarily suspend 2 medical staff

On May 14, information from Nong Cong District Medical Center said that the Director of this unit has just decided to temporarily suspend Ms. LTB and Mr. NVS, both medical staff of Thang Binh Commune Medical Station, for 15 days (from May 12).

Ms. B. and Mr. S. were determined to have primary responsibility for the preservation and implementation of vaccination, related to the process of allowing expired vaccines to be injected into children.

Due to lack of inspection, medical staff of Thang Binh Commune Health Station injected 4 doses of expired vaccine to 4 children.

The temporary suspension of the above two people from work allows relevant agencies to clearly determine responsibility and take disciplinary action when an incident of injecting expired vaccines occurs.

Previously, as Thanh Nien reported, at around 8:00 a.m. on May 9, Thang Binh Commune Health Station organized a 6-in-1 vaccination made in France for 15 children in the commune who registered for the service.

At more than 10 o'clock the same day, some parents reported to the Thang Binh Commune Health Station that their children were injected with expired vaccines.

Thang Binh Commune Health Station has identified 4 children who received the 6-in-1 vaccine that expired 39 days ago (as of May 9). Afterwards, staff at Thang Binh Commune Health Station and their families took the children to Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital for health monitoring.

Mr. Phan Van Chuong, Head of the Thang Binh Commune Health Station, admitted that this unit had made a mistake that led to the injection of expired vaccines to children. The reason was that the staff did not check carefully before injecting.
