Exploiting the land and climate potential to develop typical products, Tan Yen commune has turned many agricultural products into OCOP products, gradually affirming its brand in the market and increasing people's income.

Identifying OCOP development - is building a brand for agricultural products and a sustainable direction to increase farmers' income. Currently, Tan Yen commune has many products registered to participate in OCOP, mainly tea products and processed agricultural products.

Mr. Ha Quang Thanh, Chairman of Tan Yen Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has connected businesses, cooperatives with farmers to form a closed value chain, creating favorable conditions in terms of procedures, premises, and capital for households and businesses to invest and develop. At the same time, mobilizing people to produce according to VietGAP and organic processes; supporting facilities and businesses to complete packaging, labels, and traceability to meet OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher.

Visiting the production area of ​​Tan Lap Tea Processing Company Limited in Hoa village, Mr. Luong Manh Trung, Director of the company, said: In 2024, the Company was recognized as OCOP for 2 products, Kim Tuyen Oolong Tea and Tu Quy Oolong Tea, which met 3-star standards. The Company's tea products have a distinctive flavor thanks to being produced according to a modern processing process on Taiwanese equipment lines, both preserving the natural aroma and removing the astringent taste, different from conventional tea products. Achieving OCOP certification helps enhance brand value, creating momentum for the Company to expand the market, and strive to upgrade the star rating for products in the following years.

Currently, Tan Lap Tea Processing Company Limited manages more than 80 hectares of tea in association with farmers, mainly Kim Tuyen variety. All raw materials are purchased according to safety standards, processed into green tea and black tea products. The company creates jobs for about 50 workers with an average income of 7-8 million VND/month depending on the season. Processed tea products are exported to the Taiwanese market, consuming about 800-900 tons of fresh tea each year.

Not only developing tea trees, Tan Yen commune also encourages households to invest in livestock farming and agricultural processing. Mr. Nguyen Quang Vinh, owner of AmiFarm Moc Chau business in sub-area 34, said: The farm has 28 dairy cows raised in a closed process, ensuring product quality, on average giving 220 kg of fresh milk per day. In addition, it cooperates with dairy farmers to produce fresh milk products that meet VietGAP, GlobalGAP, CODEX, IFOAM, ISO standards, to process into traditional Amifarm yogurt. The Amifarm Moc Chau full-cream yogurt product line has been certified to meet 3-star OCOP standards in 2023, including three main products: Full-cream yogurt, purple sticky rice yogurt and passion fruit yogurt.

Now, fresh milk and yogurt products of Mr. Vinh's family farm are available in the markets of Hanoi , Hai Phong and neighboring provinces and are loved by consumers. In addition, on an area of ​​over 5 hectares, the farm not only produces but also creates a sightseeing and experience spot for tourists.

Mr. Vinh added: To reduce the pressure on fresh milk consumption and diversify products, AmiFarm is applying advanced equipment and machinery to research and produce freeze-dried yogurt products. This is a new product with the advantage of preserving the original flavor and nutritional value, convenient for storage and transportation. The product is in the process of completing the OCOP certification dossier to soon launch the market.

Achieving OCOP certification helps AmiFarm's products affirm their reputation and open up consumption opportunities in large distribution systems. At the same time, it creates motivation for the farm to expand its herd and research more dairy products.

Notably, Thuy Ngoc Green Oolong Tea, Thanh Tam Green Oolong Tea, Thuy Ngoc Red Oolong Tea, Thanh Tam GABA Oolong Tea of ​​Moc Suong Tea Company Limited achieved 4-star OCOP; Bat Tien Special Tea, Shan Special Tea of ​​Tan Lap Moc Chau Tea Production and Trading Cooperative achieved 4-star OCOP; Amifarm Moc Chau full-cream yogurt product set, including: Full-cream yogurt, purple sticky rice yogurt, passion fruit yogurt of Amifarm Moc Chau business household achieved 3-star OCOP; Ban Hoa Kim Tuyen Tea - Jinxuan Oolong Tea, Ban Hoa Tu Quy Tea - Four Season Oolong Tea of ​​Tan Lap Moc Chau Tea Processing Company Limited achieved 3-star OCOP.
