Strengthening research cooperation and academic exchange between Vietnam and the Russian Federation

GD&TĐ - On the afternoon of October 3, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Le Quan received Mr. Anisimov Nikita, Rector of the Higher University of Economics of the Russian Federation.

Expressing his joy at visiting and working in Vietnam, Mr. Anisimov Nikita said that cooperation in training high-quality human resources is a highlight in the comprehensive strategic partnership on education between the two countries. The Higher School of Economics (HSE) and many other schools in the Russian Federation have had good cooperative relationships with many universities in Vietnam.

With its strengths, HSE will provide Vietnam with professional experience, human resources, support for scientific research and teaching methods; implement joint research projects; participate in international research projects and other academic creations. In the near future, HSE will implement a project to develop Russian language centers in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quan expressed his joy at the growing comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, and the growing cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. HSE is one of the partners that the Ministry of Education and Training highly respects and wishes to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with.

The Deputy Minister said that there are currently over 150 cooperation agreements between Vietnamese and Russian universities, through which higher education institutions of the two countries have carried out many research cooperation activities, academic exchanges, coordinated organization of conferences, seminars, and student and lecturer exchanges.

The sectors with a lot of cooperation are all those that Vietnam is interested in such as: clean energy, green fuel, information technology, artificial intelligence, law, Russian language, mining - geology, transportation, economics - management, agriculture, marine science and economics, fisheries, environment...

Every year, Russia provides 1,000 agreement scholarships to Vietnam and the Ministry of Education and Training always appreciates this. In 2025, many candidates applied for undergraduate, master's, doctoral, specialized internship and Russian language degrees for majors according to the training needs of Vietnam and majors with training strengths of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Minister Le Quan highly appreciated the project to develop Russian language centers in Vietnam and said that the Russian Embassy in Vietnam as well as the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia are interested in this content. The project will help the Vietnamese community learn Russian better. Students will learn Russian lessons, learn about Russian history and culture.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed enhancing exchange programs for lecturers, students and managers to promote mutual understanding and enhance cooperation efficiency. The two sides believe that, with determination and goodwill, the cooperation relationship will increasingly develop, further tightening the good traditional relationship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
