Strengthening the responsibility of the Chairman of the People's Committee in receiving citizens

In recent times, the work of receiving citizens, resolving complaints and denunciations in Quang Dien district (Thua Thien Hue province) has always been of interest. Through regular and periodic citizen receptions by the District People's Committee and agencies and units in the area, 428 visits with 434 citizens have been received. The content of citizen receptions mainly includes recommendations and reflections related to the fields of land, infrastructure investment, environmental sanitation, social policies, etc.

In 2022 and 2023, the District People's Committee and agencies and units received 465 petitions. The contents of the petitions, complaints, denunciations, recommendations and reflections were mainly related to the fields of land management, infrastructure investment, social policies, etc. All petitions were responded to and resolved by competent authorities with documents and decisions issued in accordance with the law. In particular, through inspection and review in Quang Dien district, there were no cases related to complicated, pending and prolonged complaints and denunciations.

In implementing the monitoring recommendations of the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Dien district has regularly maintained a cooperative relationship with the Standing Committee of the District People's Council and the Standing Committee of the District Fatherland Front Committee according to Regulation 02 on the working relationship and activities between the People's Council, the People's Committee and the District Fatherland Front Committee.

Every year, a conference is held to review the situation and results of the coordination work. The supervision recommendations of the District Fatherland Front Committee are all acknowledged and accepted by the District People's Committee; at the same time, the specialized agencies and relevant units are directed to organize implementation according to the coordination regulations and the provisions of law.

In her concluding remarks at the meeting, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Truong Thi Ngoc Anh acknowledged the results and attention of the People's Committee of Quang Dien district and relevant units in the work of receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations of citizens. In particular, the close direction of the Party Committee and the attention of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province have directed authorities at all levels to strictly implement regulations on receiving citizens and resolving complaints and denunciations of citizens.

Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh requested the Party Committee to continue to lead and direct the raising of awareness and strengthening the responsibility of Chairmen of People's Committees at all levels and heads of specialized agencies in the work of receiving citizens, handling complaints and denunciations; promote propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on receiving citizens, complaints and denunciations at the local level. Pay more attention to archiving work, promote the application of information technology in managing complaint and denunciation records; focus on and strengthen coordination with agencies, units, the Fatherland Front and local mass organizations.

In addition, Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh also suggested that the leaders of Thua Thien Hue province continue to pay attention to the selection of cadres, increase training and skill development for cadres, and also propose appropriate mechanisms and policies to motivate cadres to perform this task.

Regarding the opinions and proposals of the People's Committee of Quang Dien district, agencies and units at the working session, Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh said that the Supervisory Delegation will synthesize and have specific recommendations for the Central agencies, relevant ministries and branches.
