High-speed boat route to Vung Tau

Thang Long Express will depart from Vung Tau at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with the return journey starting at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

On February 6, according to Phu Quoc Expressway Joint Stock Company, tomorrow, February 7 (the 10th day of the lunar calendar), the Thang Long Expressway on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route will officially resume operations after nearly 5 months of suspension. The reason for the suspension is due to unfavorable weather conditions.

Thang Long high-speed ferry on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route will resume operations tomorrow, February 7.

Accordingly, the ship will depart from Vung Tau at 7:30 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The trip from Con Dao to Vung Tau will depart at 1:00 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

With a distance of 185km (97 nautical miles), the Thang Long high-speed train takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes for each trip. Train fares will not change compared to last year. Previously, this train route had temporarily suspended operations from September 14, 2024, due to unfavorable weather conditions and the need for operational adjustments.

Thang Long high-speed ship is more than 77m long, nearly 9.5m wide, and can accommodate up to 1,017 passengers. The ship has three floors, using three of the world's most modern engines manufactured by the Roll-Royce MTU Company of the Federal Republic of Germany with a total capacity of nearly 12,000 horsepower. The ship's hull is made of aluminum alloy imported from Italy, helping the ship reach speeds of up to 32 nautical miles/hour, shortening the time from Vung Tau to Con Dao.

Having more high-speed boats carrying more than 1,000 passengers per trip will contribute to creating convenience for Con Dao residents and tourists when they need to travel from Con Dao to the mainland and vice versa.

The current ticket price for the Thang Long high-speed ferry to Vung Tau - Con Dao is from 790,000 - 1.2 million VND/trip, depending on the class from economy class to VIP class. Tickets for children, the disabled and the elderly are from 550,000 - 760,000 VND/trip.
