Tay Ninh welcomes 5 million visitors to Ba Den Mountain in 2023

The province reached the milestone of 5 million cable car passengers to Ba Den Mountain by the last day of 2023.

Thousands of tourists and residents of Tay Ninh came to the "roof of the South" to welcome the new year in the moment of transition. From 4:00 p.m. on December 31, 2023, the guests marking this milestone were announced and honored at the cable car station of Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area. The three lucky guests with serial numbers from 4,999,999 to 5,000,001 are Ms. Vo Thuy Linh (Dong Nai); Cao Hai Bang (Tay Ninh); Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lieu (HCMC).

"I was really surprised when my name was announced as the 5 millionth visitor when I went through the ticket check area at the tourist area with my family. This is a great joy in the new year," said Mr. Cao Hai Bang.

With this achievement, Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area has contributed to making Tay Ninh tourism exceed the annual plan, welcoming more than 5.1 million visitors and becoming one of the top tourist attractions in Vietnam in the past year.

Within the framework of the program, the leaders of Tay Ninh province presented flowers to the representative of Sun World Ba Den Mountain tourist area to acknowledge the positive contributions of the unit. "With more and more unique experiences, Tay Ninh tourism industry has set a record for the first time in terms of the number of visitors. Today, the Ba Den Mountain cable car system welcomes the 5 millionth visitor, which is an extremely proud achievement," Mr. Tran Anh Minh - Director of Tay Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized.

To mark this milestone and welcome the new year 2024, the province and the tourist area held a 15-minute fireworks display right at the cable car station of Ba Den Mountain, attracting tourists and locals to participate, with the hope of a new year full of happiness and prosperity.

This is the first year Tay Ninh has organized fireworks displays and many other activities on the occasion of New Year. Therefore, from early morning, crowds of people have flocked to Ba Den Mountain to wait for the moment of the new year.

"Today my family celebrated a very special New Year. In the morning, we went up the mountain to visit the Lady and enjoy the spring atmosphere, then joined the crowd of people offering candles on the sacred mountain top to wish for a peaceful New Year. At the moment of New Year's Eve, the whole family burst into laughter with a brilliant fireworks display. This was truly an unforgettable New Year," said Ms. Ngoc Bich (Long An).

In addition, the ceremony also featured a countdown art program to the new year "Hello 2024: Tay Ninh - A Bright Journey". Here, the organizers awarded many gifts worth more than 10 million VND to the three luckiest guests marking the milestone of Ba Den Mountain cable car surpassing 5 million visitors.

At Sun World Ba Den Mountain, tourists and people of Tay Ninh can also offer lanterns to welcome the new year. Thousands of wishes are lit under the shimmering light, floating on the water around the Prajna Sutra pillar, creating a magical and sacred scene for the highest mountain in the South.
