Tay Ninh: Temporarily suspend climbing activities on Ba Den Mountain due to storms

According to the Head of the Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, during the rainy and stormy season, the weather is complex and unpredictable, this area is at high risk of landslides, rolling rocks, and slippery roads.

The Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, Tay Ninh Province, said that this unit has announced the temporary suspension of mountain climbing and picnicking activities at Ba Den Mountain Cultural-Historical Forest from October 1, 2025 until further notice.

According to Mr. Tran Thai Nam, Head of the Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area, during the rainy and stormy season, the weather is complex and unpredictable, this area is at high risk of landslides, rolling rocks, and slippery roads.

These factors can endanger the lives and property of tourists and residents.

In particular, according to Mr. Tran Thai Nam, recently, there have been many cases of accidents due to falls, getting lost, etc., causing mental and physical damage to climbers and picnickers, and making it very difficult for rescue and relief forces.

The most recent incident occurred on September 28, when the rescue team of the Management Board had to work hard for many hours to bring the victim who had been climbing the mountain down to safety.

The Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area requests residents and visitors to strictly follow safety recommendations. The unit coordinates with competent authorities to regularly inspect, monitor, resolutely prevent and handle violations in accordance with the law.

In addition, the Management Board of Ba Den Mountain National Tourist Area added that the road from the mountainside to the ground of Ba Linh Son Thanh Mau Pagoda (also known as Ba Den Pagoda) and Ba Linh Son Thanh Mau Temple are still operating normally.

Ba Den Mountain, in Tay Ninh province, is known as the “roof of the South” with a height of 986 m. This is the most famous destination in Tay Ninh, attracting many tourists because of its majestic landscape and unique spiritual value.

In recent times, Ba Den Mountain has become a destination chosen by many tourists to experience mountain climbing, conquering hiking trails to explore natural beauty, exercise and capture memorable "check-in" moments.

Tourists can choose the cable car route to visit and admire the natural landscape on the top of Ba Den Mountain such as: the 72 m high Buddha statue of Tay Bo Da Son, weighing 170 tons of red copper - the work is recorded as the tallest Buddha statue in Southeast Asia, the Maitreya Buddha statue is assembled from 6,688 sandstone stones, 36 m high, weighing 5,112 tons./.
