Excavators were mobilized to serve the search for missing victims in Ma Lau A village, Lung Cu commune. |
Immediately after the discovery, the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial according to local customs. Currently, rescue forces are still urgently searching for the remaining 3 victims in the rainy weather conditions, slippery rocks, and many potential safety risks.
Previously, a particularly serious landslide occurred at around 7am on September 30, burying the house of Mr. Vang Cha So's family, leaving 4 members of the family missing. Immediately after the incident, many forces such as the Provincial Police, the Defense Command of Region I, Lung Cu Border Guard Station, Forest Protection Department of Region XVI, and many officials and people of Lung Cu commune made efforts to participate in the search.
However, due to the large amount of landslides and unfavorable weather, the search was difficult. In response to this situation, on the morning of October 2, Lung Cu commune mobilized an additional excavator to join the search, thanks to which the search and rescue work has progressed. And the first missing victim has been found.
Authorities removed the victim's body from the landslide area. |
Lung Cu commune authorities are actively supporting and encouraging relatives of the victims, while continuing to implement measures to ensure safety for people in areas at risk of landslides.
