Special Vietnam-Laos solidarity in Cuba on the occasion of Vietnam National Day

Ambassador Le Quang Long and Ambassador Vanhtha Sengmeuang exchanged many specific initiatives to strengthen coordination between the two embassies in Cuba.

Lao Ambassador to Cuba Vanhtha Sengmeuang congratulated Vietnam on its 80th National Day.

In the joyful atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), on August 26, a delegation from the Embassy of the Lao People's Democratic Republic in Cuba visited and congratulated the Embassy of Vietnam in Cuba, vividly demonstrating the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

Leading the delegation was Ambassador Vanhtha Sengmeuang. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Ambassador Le Quang Long and all the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Havana in a warm atmosphere filled with comradely affection.

On behalf of the Lao Party, Government and people, Ambassador Vanhtha Sengmeuang sent his warmest congratulations to the Party, State and people of Vietnam, expressing his admiration for the great achievements that Vietnam has attained over the past 80 years in all fields.

Ambassador Vanhtha Sengmeuang highly appreciated Vietnam's increasingly enhanced role and position in the international arena, considering it a vivid demonstration of the mettle, intelligence and strength of a resilient nation.

Emphasizing the tradition of close friendship between the two countries, the Lao Ambassador affirmed: “The special solidarity and strategic alliance between Vietnam and Laos is a priceless legacy that was painstakingly cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane. This is an irreplaceable foundation that will always be preserved and promoted by generations of leaders and people of the two countries.”

In response, Ambassador Le Quang Long expressed his deep gratitude for the sentiments and meaningful presence of the Lao side on the important holiday of the Vietnamese people.

Ambassador Le Quang Long affirmed that the Vietnamese people will forever remember the faithful companionship of the Lao people throughout historical periods and consider it an exemplary symbol of international solidarity.

“The Vietnam-Laos friendship is a rare phenomenon in the history of international relations, a sacred spiritual asset, a source of endogenous strength helping both nations to firmly step forward in the cause of development and integration,” Ambassador Le Quang Long emphasized.

During this meaningful meeting, the two sides reviewed the glorious historical milestones in the bilateral relationship, especially in 2025 - a historic milestone when Vietnam celebrates the 80th anniversary of National Day, while Laos looks forward to celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the country and the 105th anniversary of the birth of President Kaysone Phomvihane.

The two Ambassadors also exchanged many specific initiatives to strengthen coordination between the two representative agencies in Cuba, contributing to further deepening the Vietnam-Laos friendship and comprehensive strategic cooperation through all Party, State, people and diplomatic channels.
