Hardly won against weak opponent, Man Utd suffered heavy losses

Man Utd relieved the psychological pressure after defeating Luton Town with a score of 1-0 in round 12 of the Premier League. However, this was another match where the "Red Devils" could not enjoy complete joy. The Old Trafford team suffered heavy losses after this hard-fought victory.

In the 40th minute, Christian Eriksen was lying on the field with a thigh injury. The medical team came on the field and announced that the Danish player would not be able to continue playing.

In the 79th minute, Man Utd fans and the entire Danish team were worried when they saw Rasmus Hojlund lying there clutching his leg, clearly in pain. To ensure the safety of his 2003-born student, coach Erik Ten Hag had to take Hojlund off to rest and replace him with Anthony Martial.

Speaking after the win over Luton, coach Ten Hag said: “ Regarding Hojlund’s injury, I can’t say anything at the moment. The club will let him go for a check-up and the results will be available in a day. Hojlund has scored 5 goals in the Champions League. He is very confident. The next goals will come.”

Man Utd have only played 16 matches in the 2023/24 season in all competitions but have suffered 20 injuries. Before Hojlund and Eriksen, the team lost a series of important players such as Casemiro, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans and Amad Diallo.

In the next match against Everton, coach Ten Hag will also be banned from coaching due to receiving 3 yellow cards since the beginning of the season.

However, the "Red Devils" are still lucky, because after round 12, the Premier League will take a break to make way for a series of international matches.

Fans hope Hojlund and Eriksen will not have serious problems to be able to return in time for Man Utd's stormy schedule in late November and early December, including the match against Galatasaray in the Champions League group stage or the difficult matches against Newcastle, Chelsea or Liverpool in the Premier League.
