Thanh Hoa won the "Excellent Collective" Award and 2 C prizes in the 4th Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation

On the evening of October 20, in Hanoi , the Organizing Committee of the "4th Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation - 2024" held an Award Ceremony for authors, groups of authors with excellent works, and collectives with high achievements in the contest.

Comrade Dao Xuan Yen, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda Department of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of Steering Committee 35 of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee (3rd from right) received the "Excellent Collective" award of the 4th Political Contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation - 2024.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: General Secretary, President To Lam; General Luong Cuong, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Steering Committee 35; comrades of the Politburo; Secretaries of the Party Central Committee; along with comrades of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee; representatives of leaders of central and local departments, ministries, branches.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee 35 spoke at the ceremony.

The 4th Political Contest on Protecting the Party's Ideological Foundation - 2024" was directed by the Central Steering Committee 35, chaired by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Council of Theory, Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, and the Vietnam Journalists Association.

The contest was launched in October 2023. After more than 9 months of implementation, nearly 470,000 entries were received, many of which deeply expressed the Party's character, scientific nature, and fighting spirit. The entries all demonstrated diversity in form, content, and style; ensuring official information on viewpoints, policies, innovative contents, and strategic thinking vision of our Party over nearly 40 years of innovation; closely following theoretical and practical issues in protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views. Many entries also mentioned current issues, were highly applicable, and brought many new perspectives on the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation.

The Jury selected 12 first prizes; 22 second prizes; 37 third prizes; and 63 consolation prizes.

Through the preliminary and final rounds, the Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee of the Competition, and the Jury selected the best works to award prizes, including: 12 A prizes; 22 B prizes; 37 C prizes; 63 Encouragement prizes.

The Organizing Committee also awarded 20 "Excellent Collective" prizes to agencies, organizations and localities that have organized and implemented the contest extensively and creatively at the grassroots level, effectively serving the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo at localities, agencies and units; and have many entries of good quality.

The Steering Committee 35 of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee organized a wide-ranging competition, with 2 entries winning the C prize, namely: 3-part printed newspaper series: "Transforming" youth - revealing the insidious plots of enticing and inciting by hostile forces (Part 1: Conspiracies hidden behind the... "silence"; Part 2: Reactionary news is "harmful to the country"; Part 3: Youth do not curl up in a safe cocoon) by author Le Phuong (Thanh Hoa Newspaper); 3-part radio series: Treating the disease of "fear of learning, laziness to learn" political theory in cadres and party members - need timely and effective solutions by author Le Thi Anh (Dong Son District Political Center).

Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee's Steering Committee 35 was honored to receive the "Excellent Collective" award.

In particular, a series of print articles on “Transforming” the youth - clearly revealing the insidious plots of enticing and inciting by hostile forces, focused on reflecting the current situation, characteristics and perceptions of today’s youth, leading to “opportunities” for hostile and reactionary forces to entice and incite in order to implement the strategy of “peaceful evolution” and “ideological transformation” to sabotage our Party and State. The work also mentioned specific solutions for youth to participate in contributing to firmly protecting the Party’s ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.

For the 3-part radio series: Treating the disease of "fear of learning, laziness to learn" political theory among cadres and party members - needing timely and effective solutions, the author has deeply reflected the alarming situation among cadres and party members regarding the manifestation and psychology of fear of learning, laziness to learn political theory. The work also promptly proposed specific and practical solutions to overcome this "disease" in the coming time.

Thanh Hoa has 2 works winning prize C:

• 3-part print newspaper special issue: "Transforming" the youth - revealing the insidious plot to entice and incite by hostile forces by author Le Phuong (Thanh Hoa Newspaper);
• A series of 3 radio episodes: Treating the disease of "fear of learning, laziness to learn" political theory among cadres and party members - need timely and effective solutions by author Le Thi Anh (Dong Son District Political Center).

In addition to the official prize, the Organizing Committee of the Contest awarded prizes to the oldest and youngest authors participating in the contest; 20 Promising prizes for works by authors and groups of authors who are union members, youth, and students who made it to the final round and had the highest scores among the works of union members, youth, and students.

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized the significance and success of the Contest, which has made an important contribution to the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

Through the Contest, it contributes to strengthening trust, unity and solidarity within the Party and the political system; at the same time, continuing to affirm the important position and role of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. At the same time, discovering and training a team of experts and collaborators to build a force to effectively participate in the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation; building a rich and quality line of political articles published in mass media nationwide.

To maximize the value of the Contest, continue to strengthen the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new revolutionary period, the General Secretary and President proposed four contents that need to be implemented:

Firstly, it is necessary to unify the perception that protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints is a class struggle on the ideological and political theory front; it is the task of our entire Party, army and people, and an important task of the entire political system in building the Party and the political system.

Second, protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints must be closely linked to economic, cultural and social development, improving people's material and spiritual life, and bringing prosperity and happiness to the people, which is the most crucial factor.

Third, firmly protect, supplement and develop the Party's ideological foundation; apply, supplement and creatively develop Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh's thought and the theory of renovation; build and perfect the basic theoretical system on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, and fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new revolutionary stage.

Fourth, build and consolidate the core force to protect the Party's ideological foundation in conjunction with consolidating the people's hearts on the basis of the all-people national defense posture, the all-people national defense posture associated with the people's security posture, and a solid people's security.

General Secretary and President To Lam believes that with the prestige and influence it has established, the Political Contest to Protect the Party's Ideological Foundation will continue to innovate, closely follow practical requirements, increasingly effectively serve the political tasks of agencies, units, localities and the country, contributing to building and firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

At the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, on behalf of the Central Steering Committee 35, launched the 5th contest in 2025.
