On the morning of February 14, Chairman of Thanh Mien District People's Committee Nguyen The Tai had a dialogue with 27 households whose land was subject to land recovery and clearance to implement the Thanh Mien new urban area project.
At the dialogue, households raised their opinions regarding the delay in handing over land for project implementation. Many households requested the district to implement the compensation price and support for site clearance according to the 2024 Land Law and requested to buy land in the new urban area at preferential prices or exchange agricultural land for resettlement land.

Chairman of Thanh Mien District People's Committee Nguyen The Tai said that the Thanh Mien new urban area project was implemented before the 2024 Land Law took effect, so compensation and site clearance support will still be implemented according to the 2013 Land Law.
According to regulations, the reclamation of agricultural land cannot be resettled with residential land. After working with the investor of Thanh Mien new urban area infrastructure, this enterprise committed to support 700,000 VND/sao for households. Besides, this is not a project negotiated with the people, so the request of some households to discuss directly with the investor is unfounded...
The Chairman of the Thanh Mien District People's Committee affirmed that the Thanh Mien new urban area project plays an important role in the local socio -economic development. The compensation and support for site clearance are carried out by the district in accordance with the law and always ensure all rights of the people. Therefore, households need to hand over their land soon so that the project can be implemented on schedule. By February 28, the district will carry out compulsory land recovery for households that have not yet complied with the land handover as prescribed.
The Thanh Mien new urban area construction investment project is invested by a consortium of Anh Quang Investment Co., Ltd., Thai Duong Construction Investment and Commercial Services and Hoang Thanh. The project has a total area of 91.3 hectares in Thanh Mien town. Up to now, Thanh Mien district has cleared 80 hectares of land.
