In late 2024, Buakaw Banchamek went to watch the Karate Combat match between his student, Pinpetch, and Reza Razavi (Iran). In this match, Pinpetch won by consensus against his Iranian opponent. Outside, Buakaw Banchamek constantly encouraged and gave Pinpetch tips.

Buakaw shared the Karate Combat post on his personal page and wrote: “Soon” . Buakaw is 43 years old but despite that, the Muay Thai legend is still fighting and even moving into boxing. Buakaw’s move has excited many fans even though it is not known specifically when he will compete in Karate Combat.
Karate Combat is a fighting tournament that brings together karate fighters from different styles such as Kyokushin, Shotokan, Shito Ryu, Wado Ryu, Kempo Karate and other martial arts. According to the rules, fighters wear gloves when fighting and are not allowed to use moves such as arm locks or grappling. Participating fighters are required to follow karate-do etiquette and other specific competition rules.
Karate Combat has attracted attention in recent years.
Launched in Miami, this highly competitive Karate tournament has made those who were previously not interested in traditional Karate rethink, with some even suggesting that it could become the new rival to the UFC.
Karate Combat matches take place in a 6.5m x 6.5m square pit surrounded by 45° angled walls. A match consists of 3 rounds, each lasting 3 minutes with the possibility of 2 extra rounds for championship matches. Karate Combat has been held since 2018 and has attracted many fighters. Buakaw Banchamek (born 1982) is an icon of Muay Thai and Kickboxing in the world . Besides the Muay Thai championship belts, Buakaw Banchamek is also famous for his 2 K-1 World MAX kickboxing championships in 2004 and 2006.
