Payoo platform, a payment intermediary, has just informed about prominent payment trends in the first 6 months of 2025.

Accordingly, in the public service sector, many agencies and units have switched to cashless payment of administrative fees and charges.

Many museums and relic sites also deploy POS payment methods such as QR code scanning and card payments, helping people easily access and transact.

In big cities, cashless payments have been applied on metro and express buses. In Ho Chi Minh City, the rate of metro passengers paying cashless is about 70%.

In the private sector, the food and beverage (F&B) industry continues to maintain its leading position in electronic payments with a slight increase in average order value.

Some other sectors, such as retail, supermarkets, and convenience stores in the Payoo partner system, continue to maintain stable growth, thanks to people's essential spending needs remaining high.

The luxury fashion and retail industry also recorded a slight recovery, supported by the resurgence of domestic and international tourism.

Many businesses in the health and beauty sector such as pharmacies, clinics, and spas also increased the value of cashless payments, showing that people focus on investing in physical and mental health.

According to Payoo, the Government has issued new regulations on taxes, using electronic invoices generated from cash registers directly connected to tax authorities to help make the economy transparent and promote cashless payments. Payment solution providers are increasingly interested in small traders and households.
