Actress Thanh Tu was born in 1975 in Hanoi , in a family with an artistic tradition. Her parents were both Cai Luong artists, so from a young age, she followed her family to many theater troupes, singing and doing odd jobs such as selling gasoline and food to earn extra income.
After graduating from the Hanoi University of Arts, Thanh Tu worked at the Cai Luong Theater before joining the Youth Theater. After that, she participated in the Weekend Meeting and was remembered by the audience with the nickname Tu "Chao Long".
Recently, she has made an impression when playing roles in a number of TV series such as: The Judge, Living with Mother-in-law, Running Away from Youth, Say I Love You, Don't Make Mom Angry and most recently Father's Gift ... For Thanh Tu, being able to transform into characters and being loved by the audience is something that makes her very proud.
Thanh Tu shared with Dan Tri reporter: "I feel lucky to have caught the attention of directors. Because the older I get, the fewer opportunities I have for roles.
Moreover, the number of actors today is also very large, they have many different "acting qualities" so directors have many choices. If I am invited to a movie, and it is a role with space and personality, then that is an opportunity and I always try to do my role well," she confided.
The actress shared that she often plays characters with fierce and sour personalities, so many people who meet her in real life are surprised because she is very easy-going and cheerful.
"People assume that my personality in real life is just as scary as mine, so they are very cautious when meeting me. Some partners said they were a bit "scary" when they first met me. When they met and talked, many people were surprised because they didn't expect me to be as gentle as a "nun", Thanh Tu said.
The Youth Theatre actress also did not hesitate to talk about her private life. She divorced her ex-husband 10 years ago, and now they consider each other as friends. They broke up because they could not find a common voice, not because of any major conflicts.
"At that time, I was young, I still had a strong desire for love, I still wanted my husband's attention but I couldn't, so we separated for 6-7 months, our feelings gradually faded and then we broke up. I still think that the decision to divorce was the right one because I didn't want my children to see their parents being indifferent, they would have the wrong idea about happiness," she said about the reason for "going their separate ways".
Asked Thanh Tu: "As a beautiful and talented woman, have you ever thought about remarrying a tycoon or a rich man to be protected?"
She frankly said: "It seems like I'm not compatible with rich men. I met many rich men, even gave them my phone number, but when I got home I deleted the number. Rich men mean nothing to me because the money is theirs, not mine.
Maybe I've encountered many negative things in life so I'm allergic to the word "rich". My life today is my choice, not because I haven't met people with conditions.
Thanh Tu said that every day, she receives many friend requests on social networks. Those people are of many ages, young and old, but she is not the type of person who likes to make friends on social networks, so she gently analyzes with them that they are not suitable for her to avoid being bothered.
At the age of 48, Thanh Tu still believes in love, she still longs for a beautiful love. "At this age, everything is "slower", I don't expect much from love, but if fate comes, I'm still ready to accept it. If we call each other "husband" or "wife", we have to be responsible for each other," she confided.
After the hardships of breaking up with her ex-husband, Thanh Tu has worked hard and now she has bought a house and a car. She said: "I always think about bringing money home to take care of this and that, so that when I am sick I never have to ask anyone for a penny. For me, that is an effort. I am always proud because my sacrifice has a purpose."
Currently, Thanh Tu is happy because she can still make a living from her job. She is more relaxed because her eldest daughter is married, her second daughter is about to enter 12th grade and loves her mother very much.
She calls herself a "diaper grandmother" when she takes care of her grandchildren. She said she feels happy when she takes care of her children, and now she takes care of her grandchildren. Every day, when she is not filming, she often goes for walks with her grandchildren, goes to the gym, and cooks for the whole family. Thanh Tu is also one of the very trendy artists who often uses Tiktok to share happy moments of herself and her loved ones.
