Removing difficulties in implementing dynamic energy projects

Accordingly, the province is currently implementing dynamic energy projects including: Quang Trach Power Center Project, Quang Tri Thermal Power Plant Project and AMI Savannakhet Wind Power Project. In which, the project under Quang Trach Power Center includes 4 component projects, namely: Infrastructure under Quang Trach Power Center, Quang Trach I Thermal Power Plant, Quang Trach II LNG Thermal Power Plant and Quang Trach III LNG Thermal Power Plant.

According to EVN’s report, in recent times, Quang Tri province has paid attention, helped, directed and created favorable conditions to ensure the construction of projects. In order to continue implementing projects smoothly, effectively and on schedule, EVN proposed that the Provincial People’s Committee consider supporting a number of related issues, mainly on site clearance, compensation and resettlement, etc.

Faced with difficulties, obstacles and the planned implementation of projects in the coming time, the Provincial People's Committee proposed that, for the Quang Tri Thermal Power Plant Project, EVN should unify the steps to select investors; promptly review and report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for approval so that investors can have a basis to implement the AMI Savannakhet Wind Power Plant Project (Laos). At the same time, speed up the progress of preparing documents, appraising and approving feasibility study reports for transmission projects invested by EVN Group that have been approved by the Prime Minister, ensuring synchronization with power source projects in the province, including the import of electricity from Lao PDR. In particular, priority should be given to and attention paid to early implementation of investment and construction for 4 projects in the list of important national programs, works and projects, key to the energy sector, such as: 500kV Lao Bao Substation (Huong Hoa); 500kV Lao Bao line - 500kV Quang Tri 2 switching station, 220kV Lao Bao 500kV substation (Huong Hoa) line and 220kV connecting line; 500kV Quang Tri 2 switching station.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam highly appreciated the reports of EVN and related units that analyzed and made clear recommendations on the difficulties of each project and construction. At the same time, he requested EVN to closely coordinate with units and localities to review implementation plans; localities in the province to proactively coordinate with departments, branches and investors to speed up site clearance work. The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also directed and assigned specific tasks to each local department, branch and sector to accompany EVN to promptly remove difficulties for each project in order to speed up construction progress, complete power supply projects, bring many benefits and socio -economic development to the locality and the country.
