According to the Vietnam Meteorological Agency, from now until the end of August, the North and Central regions will not have heat but rather cool weather. In early September, heat will begin to return in the Central region.

On the afternoon of August 15, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported on the weather situation nationwide during the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, September 2.

From August 20 to August 31

According to forecasts, from August 20 to 31, many areas across the country will have thunderstorms, moderate temperatures, and little possibility of widespread heat.

In the North , the weather will be mostly rainy and thunderstorms for many days, with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 31-34 degrees Celsius. Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, Head of Weather Forecast Department, National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, said that the possibility of widespread heat is very low.

In the Central region, from August 20 to 25, there will be rain, showers and thunderstorms. Then from August 26 to 31, thunderstorms will concentrate in the late afternoon, sunny during the day, temperatures below 35 degrees Celsius but no widespread heat wave.

In the Central Highlands and the South, there will be thunderstorms in the evening during this period. Temperatures in the Central Highlands range from 29 to 32 degrees Celsius, and in the South from 32 to 34 degrees Celsius.

How was the first 5 days of September?

From September 1 to 5, the North and Central regions will generally have little rain and sunny days, while the Central region may experience heat waves. The Central Highlands and the South will maintain sunny days with showers and thunderstorms in the evening.

Mr. Nguyen Van Huong said that from now until the end of August, the North and Central regions may experience moderate to heavy rains with the risk of flash floods and landslides. At sea, strong winds and the possibility of tropical depressions may occur.
