According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on August 15, in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and the Central Highlands, there will continue to be rain, moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.

Rainfall in many places was over 90mm, such as: Khuon Ha (Tuyen Quang) 115.4mm, Lang Ngam ( Bac Ninh ) 103.2mm, Hien Trung (Thanh Hoa) 98mm, Nghien Loan (Thai Nguyen) 95.8mm, Nam Dong (Lam Dong) 141.2mm.

It is forecasted that by noon on August 15, the North will have rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain to very heavy rain and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 10 - 35mm, with some places over 100mm. From the evening of August 15 to the night of August 16, the Northeast and Thanh Hoa will have moderate rain, heavy rain, with rainfall ranging from 60 - 130mm, with some places over 250mm.

The Central Highlands and the South have moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 50 to 100mm, locally over 200mm. There is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes in many communes and wards.

In addition, on the afternoon and night of August 15, the Northwest, the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang , the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, as well as some areas of Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall of 15 - 40mm, locally over 100mm. Warning of heavy rain over 100mm in 3 hours. During thunderstorms, there is a high risk of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

At sea, during the day and night of August 15, the southwest wind is strong at level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8 in the sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City and the west of the South East Sea (including the west of the Truong Sa sea area), gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8 at night, rough sea, waves 1.5 - 3m high. The area east of the Truong Sa sea area, the north of the East Sea and the south-central East Sea also has winds of level 5 - 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough sea.

Experts advise people in areas with heavy rain to be on guard against the risk of flooding, flash floods, and landslides; fishermen and boats operating at sea need to closely monitor forecasts to proactively prevent.
