(PLVN) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, the Northwest and Viet Bac regions of the North will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain.

The Hydrometeorological Agency forecasts that from June 27 to June 28, the Northwest and North Vietnam regions will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with common rainfall from 30-70mm, locally over 200mm (rain concentrated in the late afternoon and night).

Warning of risk of heavy local rain (>100mm/3h).

In addition, on the day and night of June 27, other places in the North, Thanh Hoa - Nghe An will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, locally over 80mm.

In the afternoon and evening of June 27, in the Central Highlands and the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 50mm.

From around the night of June 28 to July 2, in the North, there is a possibility of widespread heavy rain with common rainfall of 100-300mm, locally over 500mm in some places.

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.

Regarding the weather at sea, currently (June 27), the low pressure trough connects with the weakened low pressure area from the tropical depression with an axis through the Northern region.

Forecast for the day and night of June 27, the Northern Gulf of Tonkin, the Central East Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 6-7.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
