Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh receives General Director of Rosatom Corporation

On the morning of October 24, local time, within the framework of a working trip to attend the 2024 BRICS Leaders' Summit, held in Kazan, Russian Federation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Alexey Likhachev, General Director of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom).

At the reception, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to comprehensive cooperation with the Russian Federation; emphasizing that the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and space research are areas in which the two countries can cooperate.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated the cooperation and support of the Russian Federation in designing and operating the Dalat Nuclear Reactor, developing the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, contributing to Vietnam's socio-economic development.

The Prime Minister proposed that Russia and Rosatom continue to support Vietnam in technology and training high-quality human resources, including experts, engineers and skilled workers in the field of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

General Director Alexey Likhachev expressed his pleasure to meet Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh again; and at the same time reported to the Prime Minister on the results of cooperation between the two countries in the field of atomic energy.

The General Director affirmed that with a good foundation and long-term cooperation experience, Rosatom wishes to continue promoting cooperation with Vietnam in the fields mentioned by the Prime Minister, is ready to share experiences, support systematic and methodical training of staff for Vietnam, and promote maximum localization in this field.
