Promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia in many fields

On July 2, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Central Party Committee member and Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Vietnam Denny Abdi.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong expressed his joy at the progress in the relationship between the two countries in recent times and highly appreciated the contributions of the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam and the Ambassador personally.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to the position and role of Indonesia, wishes to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to become increasingly deeper and more effective, and supports Indonesia in promoting its active role, contributing to ASEAN solidarity and cooperation as well as peace , stability and development in the region and the world.

In the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong suggested that the two sides continue to closely coordinate to implement the results of high-level visits, especially the State visit of General Secretary To Lam to Indonesia in March 2025, focusing on promoting exchanges and contacts at high levels and at all levels on all channels of the Party, State, Government, National Assembly and people-to-people exchanges, and closely coordinate to build the Action Program for the period 2025-2030.

Ambassador Denny Abdi thanked and appreciated Deputy Minister Nguyen Manh Cuong's proposals to promote cooperation in many fields, affirming that Indonesia always attaches importance to its relations with Vietnam. Ambassador Denny Abdi emphasized that the State visit to Indonesia by General Secretary To Lam and his wife in March 2025 is an important milestone, opening a new development stage for the relationship, especially in areas of cooperation with much room for development such as trade, investment, tourism, and connecting businesses and localities.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the world and regional situation and emphasized the importance of continuing to maintain solidarity and ASEAN's central role, actively contributing to peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
