Speaking at the program, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Army Youth Union, said: In recent years, the Army's youth have closely coordinated with the Youth Union, local authorities and organizations to implement many practical projects and tasks such as: Propagating sovereignty over borders and islands; participating in building new rural areas, protecting ecosystems and marine environment; taking care of teenagers and children; taking the lead in preventing and fighting natural disasters and epidemics; contributing to economic development, maintaining political security and social order and safety in each locality.

The 2025 “Love for the Border and Islands” Festival is an opportunity for the Army’s youth and the youth of the whole country to demonstrate the spirit of “Wherever needed, there are youth, wherever difficult, there are youth”, ready to take the lead in all tasks, while fostering love for the sea and islands, awareness of the rule of law and discipline for the young generation and students.

The festival was organized with many activities of profound humanistic significance: Propagating to the people about the current situation of the sea and islands; the Law on Coast Guard and related legal documents, the work of preventing illegal fishing (IUU); displaying images of the homeland of Vietnam and the activities of the Vietnam Coast Guard; visiting and giving gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; policy families, poor households, fishermen; distributing leaflets, legal handbooks, giving national flags; awarding scholarships, bicycles, gifts to poor students who overcome difficulties to study well in Ninh Binh province, with a total value of more than 500 million VND.

At the festival, the contest “I love my homeland’s sea and islands” took place. This is a regular activity of the Coast Guard to foster and cultivate love for the homeland and country in the young generation.

Before that, delegates attending the program offered incense at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital National Special Relic Site (Ninh Binh province).
