Continue to firmly pursue the cause of national innovation

On August 22, in Hanoi , the Steering Committee for Summarizing a number of theoretical and practical issues on the socialist- oriented renovation process over the past 40 years in Vietnam (Steering Committee for Summarizing 40 Years of Renovation) held its 4th meeting.

In his concluding remarks at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the 40-year Renovation Summary Report is an important input for the drafting of documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, including the political report. Therefore, the drafting of the report must be carried out urgently and scientifically with a huge investment of effort and intelligence so that it can be promptly filtered and included in the content of the documents of the 14th National Party Congress.

General Secretary and President To Lam highly appreciated the content that has been summarized and systematized in the draft report on the 40-year summary of renovation with many outstanding contents. That is, it has evaluated and clarified the achievements and limitations in the practice of building socialism in Vietnam on four major groups of issues: building and developing a socialist-oriented market economy ; developing culture, society and people; national defense, security and foreign affairs; building and rectifying the Party and a clean and strong political system. At the same time, it has generally pointed out important developments in the theoretical understanding of socialism and building socialism in Vietnam. According to the General Secretary and President, the draft summary report has also forecasted the situation relatively closely, proposed the main goals, viewpoints, targets, and orientations for tasks and solutions to continue to comprehensively promote the renovation process; recommended and proposed a number of contents to serve the drafting of documents for the 14th National Party Congress. General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized the need to unify the perception of the new context that is opening a new era, an era of rising up of the Vietnamese people after 40 years of carrying out the renovation process, thereby having stronger innovations in the form and content of the report. The spirit is to look straight at the truth, accurately assess the achieved results; frankly and objectively point out the limitations, weaknesses, shortcomings and causes, especially the bottlenecks and knots for the country's development that have not been or are slow to be removed and overcome; continue to firmly pursue the cause of national renovation. General Secretary and President To Lam requested the members of the Steering Committee for Summarizing 40 Years of Renovation to continue to complete it to submit to the Politburo for comments, then present it to the 10th Party Central Committee Conference.
