In 2024, with the domestic and international context having basic advantages and difficulties intertwined, but with the spirit of "Discipline and Unity" of miners, TKV has basically completed the plan targets, ensuring adequate supply of coal for electricity production according to signed contracts, profits, budget payments and workers' income all increased compared to the plan.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - General Director of TKV - affirmed: Strictly implementing the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, the State Capital Management Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the officers and employees of the group have quickly overcome difficulties in production conditions due to extreme weather, storms; focusing on drastic and flexible management from the beginning of the year in coal production, import and blending. As a result, in 2024, the group's commercial coal output reached nearly 50 million tons, successfully completing the political task of ensuring coal supply for electricity production and economic activities, especially during the peak hot months with an average output of 4.0 million tons/month.

Accordingly, TKV has directed flexible production and consumption of minerals, adapting to changes in demand and prices in the domestic and international markets, promptly resolving problems arising in production, taking advantage of favorable opportunities, maximizing the capacity of mining and processing minerals and industrial explosives. The results of domestic consumption and mineral export in 2024 exceeded both output and revenue, increasing by 22% compared to the plan, contributing positively to increasing production and business efficiency with total profit of TKV reaching 6.23 trillion VND, an increase of 1.85 trillion VND compared to the plan.

“In particular, TKV has preserved and developed the assigned state capital with the parent company's equity capital as of December 31, 2024 expected to reach 41.44 trillion VND, an increase of 903 billion VND compared to the beginning of the year, meeting the conditions to increase the charter capital of the parent company TKV to 42 trillion VND after being approved by competent authorities (expected in 2025); accordingly, TKV will have enough counterpart capital to invest in developing large and important projects in the coming time" - TKV General Director emphasized.

Financial ratios have been improved and enhanced, financial safety has continued to be maintained, and state capital in enterprises has been preserved. Implementing the overall program of practicing thrift and combating waste, the group and companies have strictly controlled costs, built reasonable economic and technical solutions, saved nearly 1,000 billion VND in costs, and minimized the impact of rising input prices.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Duc An - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province - said: Removing difficulties and obstacles arising in the production and business activities of the coal industry is one of the regular and continuous activities, carried out by the functional agencies of Quang Ninh province every month/quarter/year, thereby promptly and effectively resolving difficulties for coal industry units, or together with the coal industry reporting to the Ministries, branches and central agencies for timely resolution; thereby creating the most favorable conditions for the coal industry to complete its production and business plan at the highest level.

In the coming time, Quang Ninh province requested TKV to continue to accompany and implement a number of specific contents: Strive to exceed the 2025 production and business plan, especially clean coal production in Quang Ninh region; review and complete safety regulations and procedures in each stage of mining activities, especially underground mining. Strengthen labor safety assurance work in the entire group... In particular, continue to preserve and promote the good cultural values ​​of mine workers, the coal industry and Quang Ninh province, pay attention to social welfare and social security, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 15th Provincial Party Congress.

Promoting the communication of "Discipline and Unity"

In 2024, promoting the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of the mining working class, the tradition of solidarity and mutual assistance in times of difficulty, TKV and its units proactively and flexibly overcame the consequences of storm No. 3 - super typhoon Yagi, stabilizing production in the fastest and most effective spirit.

Along with that, responding to the Prime Minister's campaign "No one is left behind, the whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses", over 400 billion has been donated to localities to build hospitals, schools, eliminate dilapidated houses..., thereby demonstrating TKV's responsibility to the community and localities in social security work.

Commenced construction of one more thermal power plant (Na Duong 2 Thermal Power Plant); put into operation a number of conveyor belts, continued the policy of conveyor belting in coal transportation, contributing to ensuring the production environment.

According to Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, from the implementation results in 2024, TKV has drawn some specific lessons:

Firstly, continue to closely follow the leadership of the Central Government, the Government, the Prime Minister and localities, and the direction of the TKV Party Committee to concretize it into the practical conditions of the group to lead, direct and organize the effective implementation of the tasks in 2024. Pay attention to the correct implementation of the principles of the Party's regulations and the State's laws, the group's regulations and rules.

Second, the more difficult it is, the more united we must be; the more difficult it is, the more we must maintain and strengthen discipline, order, and responsibility in performing tasks, especially for leaders of units.

Entering 2025 with the goal of "Safety - Solidarity - Development - Efficiency", Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group implements the 2025 production and business plan with a number of key targets.

Expected consumption of 50 million tons of coal, of which 48 million tons are domestic and 2 million tons are exported. Converted alumina output reaches 1,300 thousand tons, copper plate reaches 30,000 tons; zinc ingots (self-produced) reach 8,152 tons; steel billets reach 165 thousand tons; copper concentrate (25% Cu) reach 89,237 tons; Ammonium Nitrate reaches 190 thousand tons, explosives reach 76.1 thousand tons. Minimum power generation output is 10.07 billion kWh.

TKV awarded Emulation Flags to outstanding units leading the emulation movement in 2024

Managing and operating power plants to ensure safety, maximize capacity and equipment efficiency. The total revenue of the entire group in 2025 is targeted to reach 172,795 billion VND.

To achieve the above goal, Mr. Vu Anh Tuan also requested the units in the group to strictly implement operational discipline and resolutely and synchronously deploy from the group to the units solutions on technology, cost management, production organization and management; promote technical innovation initiatives in production; launch and effectively organize the emulation movement in production and labor to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels and celebrate major holidays of the year to comprehensively complete the production and business targets and tasks in 2025, contributing significantly to completing the targets of the 5-year plan 2021-2025.

At the same time, strengthen management and strict control of technical, safety and environmental indicators in all units and business sectors; focus on implementing the approved 2025 investment plan; continue to implement the "3-ization" strategy in production lines and actively transform digitally in all "core" areas for member units in particular and TKV in general to develop sustainably.

Strengthening corporate governance, saving costs, improving production and business efficiency; ensuring labor safety, environmental safety and performing well in security and defense work in the enterprise; strengthening human resource development to ensure enough human resources for production, taking good care of workers' lives, building corporate culture on the basis of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​in TKV, being proud of the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" of miners...
