Cadres of the Phu Hung area Mass Mobilization Team visited and learned about people's lives and production.
Ms. Diem said that her family had no land for production, so she used to stay home and take her children to school. In 2023, due to the heavy work of carrying sand, Ms. Diem's husband suffered from back pain and had to take a long leave from work. The family's economy was very difficult, and Ms. Diem's children were at risk of dropping out of school. Understanding her family situation, the local officials encouraged her and introduced her to work as a worker at a company near her home; Ms. Diem's husband also found a job suitable for his health. In 2023, Ms. Diem's family was given a Great Solidarity house. Currently, her family has been considered to have escaped poverty.
Ms. Do Thi Kieu Loan's family used to be poor and received support from the area in many aspects of life. Ms. Loan confided: “My family has 2 hectares of land. Before, I cultivated a mixed garden, with little profit. The old house of my family was degraded, with many leaks when it rained. In 2023, my family was considered to build a Great Unity house and was given conditions to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank to grow jackfruit. While waiting for the jackfruit to bear fruit, I grew coriander to "take the short-term to support the long-term". Currently, the jackfruit garden yields about 40 million VND/year."
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Mass Mobilization Team of Phu Hung area, in the period of 2020-2025, from the mobilization and support from superiors, the area will build new and repair 10 Great Solidarity houses. Every year, the area mobilizes 250-300 gifts to support poor households and those in difficult circumstances, contributing to helping people stabilize their lives.
Regional organizations are currently managing 6 loan groups from the Social Policy Bank, with a total outstanding loan balance of nearly 20 billion VND, serving the production and small-scale trading needs of the people. Thanks to preferential loans, many families have invested in production and business effectively. Mr. Pham Van Beo said: “My wife and I do not have land for production, we used to mainly work for hire to make a living. From the preferential loan, my wife and I rented 2 hectares of land to grow vegetables. We specialize in selling melon buds because they get a high price. After deducting expenses, we estimate that 2 hectares of melons make a profit of about 20 million VND/crop. Every year, my family cultivates 3-4 crops.”
In addition to caring for and supporting economic development, local officials mobilized people to contribute to the construction of traffic infrastructure. Up to now, the roads in the area have been concreted and public lighting systems installed, with a total length of 13km. To celebrate Independence Day, the People's Mobilization Team and local people enthusiastically cleaned the environment and replaced the lighting system on Long Ong Street, creating urban beauty.
“Long Ong route is 1,200m long. This is the location chosen by the area and registered to implement the model of “Bright - green - clean route, associated with traffic safety” which has been maintained and improved over the past 3 years. The model has received many certificates of merit at all levels. Currently, the area is reviewing and mobilizing social resources to replace the national flag, lighting bulbs... to welcome the solemn and dignified National Day" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu, Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Mass Mobilization Team of Phu Hung area, informed.
