Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston held a ceremony to celebrate the 58th anniversary of ASEAN's founding.

On August 8, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Houston, Texas coordinated with the Consulates General of ASEAN countries in Texas to organize the 58th Anniversary of ASEAN's founding with the participation of representatives of the diplomatic corps and local authorities.

This is the first time ASEAN Consulates General have coordinated to organize a joint activity to promote ASEAN in Texas.

In this area, there are currently 3 ASEAN Consulates General (Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines) and 1 Honorary Consul (Thailand).

At the ceremony, representing the ASEAN Consulates General in Texas, the Indonesian Consul General reviewed the journey of ASEAN countries to become a community of solidarity in diversity as it is today.

The Indonesian Consul General also mentioned Vietnam's admission and prominent role in ASEAN over the past 30 years.

Also at the ceremony, Consuls General of ASEAN countries cut the ribbon to inaugurate the ASEAN Corner, displaying a number of photos and documents on outstanding activities of ASEAN since its establishment.

The Consulates General also coordinated to organize a culinary space with some traditional dishes of Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.
