The Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru is the highest award of the State of Peru.
Expressing the honor of awarding the "Peruvian Sun" Medal to President Luong Cuong, President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra affirmed that this noble award of the Peruvian State is to recognize President Luong Cuong's contributions to promoting and strengthening the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two countries.

President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra emphasized that this medal also shows the special respect and affection of the Peruvian State towards the country and people of Vietnam when the official visit of President Luong Cuong was made on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations; at the same time, she believed that the two sides would continue to deepen the Peru-Vietnam relationship.
Speaking at the ceremony, President Luong Cuong expressed his honor and emotion to receive the Grand Cross of the "Peruvian Sun" Order on the occasion of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations (November 14, 1994 - November 14, 2024) and during his first visit to the beautiful and hospitable country of Peru.
The President affirmed that the Peruvian State's decision to award this noble Medal demonstrates the special affection of the Peruvian State and people for the country and people of Vietnam as well as for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
"The noble medal that I am honored to receive today is an encouragement and motivation for me to try harder with my Peruvian friends to continuously foster the Vietnam - Peru cooperative relationship to develop more practically and effectively, towards new heights, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace , stability and prosperous development in the two regions and in the world," the President emphasized.
The President said that despite its geographical distance, the Vietnamese people have known Peru as a beautiful country with kind and hospitable people; a country of the brilliant Inca civilization, home to the Machu Picchu relic complex recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, a place that preserves unique historical and cultural values, a destination for millions of tourists each year, including an increasing number of Vietnamese tourists.
The President expressed his sincere thanks for the support and solidarity of the Peruvian people in the past struggle for national independence and unification.
He believes and hopes that Vietnam and Peru will continue to unite, support and stand side by side on the road ahead, bringing the bilateral relationship to increasingly strong development in all fields, making practical contributions to the realization of the development goals of the two countries, for a prosperous and happy life of the people of the two countries.

For his part, President Luong Cuong said that immediately after arriving in Lima and especially after his talks with President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, he directly witnessed and felt more clearly the beauty of the country, people, hospitality and dynamic development of Peru - a country with a deep cultural history and one of the cradles of human civilization.
Announcing the results of the talks, the President said that he and President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra shared very positive assessments of the level and development momentum of the Vietnam-Peru relationship in recent times, noting the increase in high-level dialogue, political trust and breakthrough progress in economic and trade relations.
The President said that the two sides need and can do more because the potential and room for economic cooperation is still very large, both in traditional fields such as oil and gas, mining, infrastructure, agriculture, and new fields such as digital transformation, renewable energy, semiconductor industry and artificial intelligence, based on the strengths of the two economies.

The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), ratified by both countries, is an important framework to further tie the two economies together.
The President said the two sides discussed and agreed on major orientations and measures to further deepen bilateral relations in many fields, including increasing delegation exchanges and high-level contacts, consolidating cooperation mechanisms and legal frameworks, enhancing diplomatic and consular presence, encouraging and facilitating business connections, promoting trade and investment, connecting transportation and logistics; and enhancing cultural, educational and people-to-people exchanges.
Along with that, the two sides wish to increase the exchange of students, tourists, businessmen and experts between the two countries, enhance communication, cooperation and understanding, thereby consolidating the traditional friendship.
The President was pleased to announce that the two sides had agreed to issue a Joint Statement on strengthening Vietnam-Peru relations, saying that the two countries have met all the conditions to upgrade their relations to a higher level. With high political determination, the two sides will conduct discussions to soon announce this new partnership framework.
The President expressed his belief that the visit has created more momentum for the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, meeting the concerns and interests of the two peoples, and contributing to peace, cooperation, development and integration of the East Asia - Latin America regions.
The President also respectfully invited President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra to visit Vietnam in 2025, emphasizing that the event would create another historic milestone in Vietnam-Peru relations.
