Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and many other localities finalize the plan to take the 10th grade entrance exam with 3 subjects.

Up to now, nearly 20 provinces and cities have announced plans for admission to grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year, specifically:

1	Hung Yen	- Exam 3 subjects: Literature (essay 120 minutes), Math (multiple choice 90 minutes), English (multiple choice 60 minutes).
2	Quang Nam	- Exam 3 subjects: Literature, Math, English.
3	Phu Tho	- Exam 3 subjects: Literature, Math, English. - Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted conducts exams in the following subjects: Math, Literature, English and specialized subjects. The admission exam will be held before June 20.
4	Ho Chi Minh City	- Exam 3 subjects: Literature, Math, Foreign language - Candidates taking the exam for specialized grade 10 and integrated grade 10 will take the 4th subject, which is a specialized or integrated subject, in 150 minutes.
5	Ninh Binh	- Exam in 3 subjects (Math, Literature, third exam). The third exam is in one of the subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, English) announced on March 1, 2024. - Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted conducts 2 rounds. Round 1 is preliminary selection, round 2 is entrance exam.
6	Vinh Phuc	- Exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature and English. Expected to take place from June 1-2. - Math and Literature are essay tests (80%) combined with multiple choice tests (20%), 120 minutes/test. - English test with multiple choice answers on the answer sheet, test time 60 minutes.
7	Bac Giang	- Exam 4 includes: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and the 4th subject (including one of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography and Civic Education).
8	Vinh Long	- Admission to grade 10
9	Can Tho	- Exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature and English. Time from June 5-7
10	Hanoi	- Grade 10 admission is by exam. The number of subjects is not yet determined.
11	Dong Thap	- Admission to grade 10
12	Lao Cai	- Exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature and English. - Enrollment in grade 10 of Lao Cai specialized school in the following subjects: Literature, Math, Foreign Language (English or Chinese) and specialized subjects. - Admission to 3 schools: Bat Xat Secondary and High School; Muong Khuong High School No. 3; Si Ma Cai High School No. 2.
13	Quang Binh	- Admission to grade 10 of high school by combining entrance exam with selection. Exam subjects include: Math and Literature (120 minutes/subject). Selection score = Literature score + Math score + Total score calculated based on training and study results of 4 years of secondary school + Priority points.
14	Vinh Phuc	- Exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature and English.
15	Quang Tri	- Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted's 10th grade entrance exam organizes 3 general subjects (Math, Literature, English) and 1 specialized subject according to the registered wishes. If candidates register for specialized subjects such as Literature, Math or English, they must take 2 exams for each subject (1 general exam and 1 specialized exam). - Public 10th grade admission, exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature and English (test time: Math 90 minutes; Literature 120 minutes; English 60 minutes).
16	Tuyen Quang	- Exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, English
17	Kien Giang	- Admission method for grade 10 at public schools is by entrance exam. - For non-public schools, the principal decides the admission method.
18	Binh Duong	- Public high schools take exams in 3 subjects: Math, Literature, English - Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted takes 3 exams like public schools plus specialized subjects registered by the candidate (each candidate can only register for a maximum of 2 specialized subjects)

The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that the organization of exams, admissions or combination of exams for grade 10 is under the initiative of localities.

The Departments of Education and Training advise the People's Committees of provinces and cities to approve the enrollment plan as well as decide on exam subjects, exam characteristics, exam coefficients, and bonus points.

Depending on the locality and the number of students taking the exam, the number of high schools in the area that can accept students, there will be different forms of admission, selection/exam.

According to the 2023-2024 school year schedule issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, localities will consider recognizing the completion of primary school and secondary school graduation before June 30, 2024. Complete enrollment for first-grade classes before July 31, 2024.
