The Ministry of Construction has just asked the investor consortium to review the plan to expand the Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway to 8 lanes under the PPP form, clarify the capital source, scope and scale of investment, as well as its compliance with the BOT contract, the Road Law and the PPP Law.

The consortium, including Van Phu - Invest, Dong Son, Vinaconex and Dai Duong, had previously proposed to expand the route but had not yet given a specific cost and implementation time. This expressway was renovated from National Highway 1, completed in 2016 with a scale of 4 lanes and a payback period of 21 years.

According to the road network planning, the 46 km long Hanoi - Bac Giang section will be expanded to 8 lanes. Currently, the route is often overloaded, with a traffic volume of more than 53,500 vehicles/day and night, far exceeding the forecast, leading to congestion and traffic insecurity.

Investors affirmed that the early expansion of the expressway is necessary to ensure effective exploitation, improve competitiveness and connect with Huu Nghi border gate when the Chi Lang - Huu Nghi route is completed in 2026.

Hai Phong invests nearly 2,000 billion VND to build 3 important traffic intersections

Hai Phong has just approved an investment policy of nearly 2,000 billion VND to build three important intersections at the city's gateways, including Bui Vien - Le Hong Phong, Bui Vien - Vo Nguyen Giap and Nguyen Trai - Le Hong Phong.

Of which, the Bui Vien - Le Hong Phong intersection has a capital of more than 707 billion VND, building a 485 m long underpass with 6 lanes, expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Bui Vien - Vo Nguyen Giap intersection has a capital of 675 billion VND, also building an underpass and roundabout, helping to reduce congestion and complete the traffic network in the An Bien and Le Chan areas.

The Nguyen Trai - Le Hong Phong intersection in particular has been resized with a 340m-long underpass, with a total investment of over VND565 billion, in sync with the Nguyen Trai Bridge project. Quang Tri urges implementation of 2 airport projects in the province

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just issued a document requesting to speed up the progress of the project to upgrade and expand Dong Hoi Airport and the project to invest in and build Quang Tri Airport. Hai Phong City People's Committee has just decided to establish Tien Cuong III Industrial Cluster in Quyet Thang Commune with a scale of more than 57 hectares, total investment of more than 750 billion VND, invested by Tien Phat Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company. The project operation period is 50 years from the date of land lease.

Can Tho 2 Bridge is designed with a scale of 6 lanes, speed of 100 km/h, using cable-stayed structure with a main span of 450 m. The project combines the expressway and railway bridge of Ho Chi Minh City - Can Tho, helping to save about 5,000 billion VND compared to the separate plan.

Can Tho City is urgently carrying out investment procedures for two major transport projects using Japanese ODA capital, with a total investment of nearly 14,000 billion VND. These are the project to upgrade and expand the Can Tho - Hau Giang route (National Highway 61C) and the project to develop the Mekong Delta transport network to adapt to climate change - Project 1.

The National Highway 61C project is over 37 km long, upgraded from 2 to 4 lanes, with a total capital of over 5,179 billion VND. It is expected that the City People's Council will approve the investment policy resolution by the end of this year, starting construction in 2027 and completing in 2030.
