The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health has just reported on the implementation of the program to stabilize the market of essential pharmaceutical products in the city in the second quarter of 2025 (from April 1 to June 30).
Implementing the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", the city has implemented a market stabilization program, including a program to stabilize essential pharmaceutical products.
Currently, in the city, there are 8 businesses registered to participate in the price stabilization program for 2025-2026, including 20 groups of domestically produced drugs with 290 products.

The Department of Health said that all items in the price stabilization program ensure quality, including drugs to treat common diseases, chronic diseases, and high demand, built on the essential medicine needs of the city's residents.
Specifically: pain relievers, antipyretics, anti-inflammatory drugs (Paracetamol, Meloxicam...); cough and expectorant drugs (Acetylcysteine, Bromhexin...); anti-allergy drugs (Chlorpheniramin, Fexofenadin...); anti-gastric and duodenal ulcer drugs (Omeprazole, Simethicone...); cardiovascular drugs (Atenolol, Methyldopa...).
The number of drug price stabilization points of sale is currently 2,711 pharmacies (including private pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, and corporate pharmacies).
The price of stabilized drugs is at least 5% lower than the market price, developed by the unit participating in the program, registered with the Department of Health, approved by the Department of Finance and kept stable until the end of the first quarter of 2026.
The drug stores have implemented the sale of price-stabilized drugs at no higher than the listed price. The selling price of pharmaceutical products in the price stabilization program is kept stable throughout the program implementation period.
The amount of medicine supplied to the market has met people's need for medicine, people have more choices of medicine in treating diseases.
The Department of Health will continue to implement the program to stabilize the market of essential pharmaceutical products in the third quarter of 2025, and will strengthen inspection, monitoring, urging and persuading units to coordinate and implement the program well.
At the same time, remind treating physicians to prescribe domestically produced drugs and stabilizers for inpatients and outpatients.
Coordinate with People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to strengthen communication activities, expand drug sales points, and serve people well.
In addition, strengthen close supervision of the implementation of program regulations, points of sale, goods and price management, and strictly handle violations (if any).
