Ho Chi Minh City proposes to establish a belt to restrict gasoline and diesel vehicles from entering the center from 2026

From 2026, Ho Chi Minh City will pilot a low emission zone (LEZ) in the center and Can Gio, banning substandard gasoline vehicles, and promoting the conversion of 400,000 gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles in 3 years. This is considered a turning point to reduce 90% of traffic pollution, protect the environment and move towards a green, sustainable urban area.
