Ho Chi Minh City wishes to expand sustainable development cooperation with the Netherlands.

On the afternoon of October 20, Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, received Ms. Raissa Marteaux, Consul General of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, to greet her on the occasion of starting her term of office in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the reception, Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc congratulated Ms. Raissa Marteaux on her new assignment and expressed his belief that her term will continue the effective and dynamic cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and the Netherlands, Vietnam's leading European partner in many fields.

Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc affirmed that the Netherlands is a country with strengths in water management, climate change adaptation, seaports, logistics and high-tech agriculture ... the areas that Ho Chi Minh City is prioritizing cooperation for sustainable development. The two sides have cooperated in the fields of climate change response and food security for a long time. Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc said that this opportunity brings many advantages but also many challenges so that the cooperation between the two sides will continue to be raised to new heights.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, the Dutch Consulate General will continue to act as a bridge to promote businesses of the two countries to strengthen connections and exchange experiences in areas such as clean energy, semiconductor chips, seaports, etc., in a direction consistent with the city's development strategy.
