From today (June 5), the "vaccination assistant" application - Mobile app VNVC is officially available on both iOS and Android platforms. Users can easily download, install and use it on mobile devices from the application store available on Google Play and App Store .

The launching event of the VNVC Mobile App is part of the program series "Action for the community protected by vaccines" of the VNVC Vaccination System , including many activities to help raise awareness of the role of vaccines and vaccination to proactively protect health against dangerous epidemics, while helping people easily access safe, quality vaccination services at reasonable costs. VNVC also donated hundreds of thousands of free flu shots to the community to increase the rate of Vietnamese people protected against dangerous flu from 4% to 10% by the end of 2025.

The first time she downloaded the VNVC app, Ms. NN Suong (30 years old, living in District 3) said she was very surprised that her vaccination history from 5 years ago was still saved in great detail on the app.

"Based on each individual's vaccination history and recommended vaccines, my family and I can easily choose the type of vaccine to inject and booster to prevent diseases. Recently, hearing about the scarcity of many types of vaccines, I will use the vaccine ordering utility to keep the necessary vaccines for myself and my family. Not only that, on this app, I can look up vaccine products to know if they are still available or not, without having to go to the center," Ms. Suong shared.

VNVC app reminds vaccination schedule, limits missing important vaccines

Ms. Vu Thi Thu Ha, Director of VNVC Vaccination Supply System, said that after the pandemic, awareness of the important role of vaccines in the health and lives of children and adults has increased significantly. Because people see the significance of preventing dangerous epidemics thanks to vaccines, which are simple, effective, safe and less expensive than treating diseases. Therefore, the rate of children and adults proactively going to VNVC centers to get fully vaccinated on schedule has increased.

Experts recommend that in any case, children and adults should not delay or wait for vaccines. Vaccination should be complete and on schedule to maximize the effectiveness of protection, disease prevention, and quality of life improvement.

Dr. Bach Thi Chinh, Medical Director of the VNVC Vaccination System, said that many infectious diseases such as measles, hepatitis B, diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, Hib meningitis, polio... have not been completely eliminated and can infect children at any time, so vaccination is needed as soon as the schedule is reached.

According to Dr. Chinh, given the current shortage of 5-in-1 vaccines, parents can switch to 6-in-1 vaccines to ensure their children's vaccination schedule.

"If you get the 6-in-1 vaccine, parents do not need to get an additional shot of polio or hepatitis B vaccine depending on the type of vaccine like with the 5-in-1 vaccine," said Dr. Chinh.

According to estimates by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), vaccination is a wise financial investment because the cost of medical examination and treatment is 16 times more expensive than the cost of vaccination. For example, every 100 USD (about 2.5 million VND) invested in vaccination saves 1,600 USD (about 40 million VND) in medical examination and treatment costs.
