On the morning of October 1, Ninh Khanh Prison (Department of Police Management of Prisons, Educational Institutions, and Reformatory Schools - Ministry of Public Security) held a ceremony to announce the President's decision on amnesty in 2024. At the ceremony, Colonel Tran Duc Phong, Warden of Ninh Khanh Prison, announced the President 's decision to grant amnesty in 2024 to 96 prisoners serving their sentences at Ninh Khanh Prison. Accordingly, prisoners granted amnesty this time are those who have shown good reform consciousness, strictly complied with the prison's rules and regulations, actively studied and worked, ensured the conditions, and met the criteria for amnesty consideration according to regulations....

Based on the legal grounds and regulations and the actual situation, Ninh Khanh Prison has conducted the work of reviewing and proposing amnesty strictly, publicly, democratically, ensuring fairness, correct subjects and conditions.

At the ceremony, representatives of the prisoners pardoned this time expressed their joy at receiving the pardon decision, the lenient policy of the Party and State, and promised to return to the community to strictly comply with regulations, not re-offend, and strive to become honest people, useful to their families and society.

The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated and commended the Ministry of Public Security for performing well its advisory and standing functions for the Amnesty Advisory Council; and the ministries, branches, localities and relevant agencies for closely coordinating to effectively implement the President's Amnesty Decision.

Prison units, including Ninh Khanh Prison, have promoted a sense of responsibility, overcome many difficulties and hardships to do a good job of management, education and rehabilitation, helping prisoners abandon their past mistakes, comply with the rules and regulations of the detention facility, and help prisoners actively study and reform to become honest people.

In the coming time, to continue seriously and effectively implementing the amnesty work, the Deputy Prime Minister requested all levels, sectors, social organizations, businesses, individuals and relatives of families with amnestied people returning to open their arms, create favorable conditions for those who have been amnestied to quickly integrate into the community, build a prosperous and happy life, and not discriminate against those who have been amnestied.

Local Party committees and authorities effectively implement the Government's decree detailing the Law on Enforcement of Criminal Sentences on community reintegration and policies for pardoned and released prisoners, creating conditions for them to have a stable life to minimize recidivism.

For those who were pardoned this time, he emphasized that the pardon is only the beginning of the process of rehabilitation, of the path to goodness. There are still many difficulties ahead: difficulties related to inferiority complex, difficulties from temptations in society... After the announcement ceremony, Ninh Khanh Prison organized the awarding of Amnesty Certificates, personal belongings, support regimes and ID cards to the amnestied prisoners according to regulations.
