Helping new students adapt
Immediately after students completed the admission procedures, the University of Education (University of Danang) launched a civic activity week for new students of the 2025 enrollment course.
Students are shared with a lot of useful information about the school's traditions and core values; regulations on training, scholarship consideration, tuition policy; training programs, exam organization process, graduation conditions, management software system, etc.
In addition, students are equipped with adaptive skills, effective learning methods, a sense of civic responsibility, international integration, safe use of social networks, prevention of social evils and fraud, and orientations on career opportunities and future startups.
Nguyen Hoang Thu Thao (a new student majoring in History - Geography Pedagogy) expressed: "In my first year at university, I was very confused. The teachers shared the necessary knowledge when entering a new learning environment, which helped me become more confident."
Dr. Truong Trung Phuong, Head of Student Management - Library, University of Education, shared that the Citizenship Week is a time for new students to access and equip themselves with essential knowledge, skills, and information, helping them quickly adapt to the university environment.
This is like an “orientation map” that helps students enter the university door confidently, in the right direction and responsibly.
Similarly, new students of the 2025 enrollment course of the University of Economics (University of Danang) were also equipped with legal knowledge related to traffic safety, network security, military service; raising awareness of preventing social evils, building a safe and healthy school environment during the recently organized student civic activity week.
According to Dr. Bui Trung Hiep, Acting Head of Student Affairs, Business Relations and Communications, University of Economics , in addition to useful information to prepare for a new life, the school also conducts health check-ups at the beginning of the course and disseminates digital skills to serve learning. Specifically: effectively exploiting information portals, online resources, AI applications, data management and information security.
Thereby contributing to creating opportunities for students to develop soft skills such as presentation, slide design, entrepreneurship, innovation, creating a cohesive environment, helping students quickly integrate into the new learning environment.
Training to increase digital capacity
This school year, to facilitate new students and improve their digital skills, universities have renewed their admission process, combining both online and in-person. At the University of Technology (University of Danang), before completing the direct admission procedure, new students declare their information online on the school's system.
The school will review and contact students directly if there is any inconsistent information to make adjustments and ensure accuracy, especially regarding place of residence (a factor related to the student's military service certificate).
Thanks to that, the time for official admission procedures is shortened, and you can immediately receive your student card and confirmation letter.
This is also the way of the University of Technical Education and the University of Economics (University of Danang). The optimal exploitation of information technology and reduction of admission procedures has created a comfortable mentality for new students.
At the same time, it is considered a "stepping stone" to help students adapt to the credit-based training method at universities, when students are given autonomy from building their own timetables, self-studying; updating class announcements, doing exercises and tests via the E-Learning system...
Therefore, university representatives also noted that new students need to be proactive, practice self-study skills, clearly set learning goals and be aware of the difference between high school and university.
Dr. Huynh Phuong Nam, Vice Principal of the University of Technology, said that this year's enrollment is the first batch of students of the 2018 General Education Program, and we can clearly see changes in the approach and teaching methods at the high school level.
Students are trained more in initiative, presentation skills, lesson preparation and soft skills development. This is an important foundation for them to adapt more quickly to the differences in teaching methods when entering university, which require a high level of autonomy.
“The university environment requires students to be more independent, and the teaching methods and approaches of teachers are also different. This is a necessary transition for students to gradually adapt to the working environment later on.
Instead of maintaining the passive learning method as in high school, students are encouraged to be proactive, practice self-study and research skills and be ready for the natural selection pressure of the university environment," Dr. Huynh Phuong Nam shared.
