Avoid deeply exploiting the private life of the person granted amnesty

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a document requesting to step up information and propaganda to help people and prisoners understand the correct conditions, processes and procedures, and avoid errors related to the 2025 amnesty (phase 2).

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated that propaganda work needs to contribute to raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the community in eliminating inferiority complexes towards pardoned people, creating conditions to support their reintegration.

The press needs to promote good people and good deeds, honor advanced models to spread positivity, push back negativity, and at the same time provide accurate information to avoid being exploited and distorted by bad forces.

In the process of reporting, media agencies are required to avoid deeply exploiting the private lives of pardoned people, not to publish offensive images; carefully edit content and headlines before publishing to avoid misleading information. At the same time, they must actively fight and refute false and distorted arguments about the meaning and goals of the pardon work.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that this amnesty is large in number and takes place at a meaningful time for the country and the people. Therefore, providing information and propaganda in the right direction not only helps people understand the purpose, humane meaning and leniency of the amnesty policy but also contributes to maintaining political security and social order and safety in each locality and facility.
