Awarding Vallet scholarships to 212 students from Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Ha Tinh

At the ceremony, 212 excellent students from Quang Binh , Quang Tri and Ha Tinh received Vallet scholarships in 2024; total value of nearly 3.5 billion VND; in which, each student scholarship is 29 million VND.

On the afternoon of September 3, in Dong Hoi city, Quang Binh province, the “Meeting Vietnam” Science and Education Association held the 2024 Vallet Scholarship Award Ceremony for excellent students from the three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the “Meet Vietnam” Science and Education Association, said that the Vallet Scholarship Fund is the largest scholarship fund among the scholarship funds of the “Meet Vietnam” Science organization.

This year, due to health problems, Professor Odon Vallet - the initiator of the Vallet Scholarship Fund and President of the Fund could not come to Vietnam, so he was very sad and regretful that he could not directly award scholarships to excellent students.

Professor Tran Thanh Van said: "The Association for Science and Education "Meeting Vietnam" and the Vallet Scholarship Fund are happy and proud to know that the scholarship recipients are excellent students with excellent academic achievements, overcoming difficulties to study well from the three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh. With the spirit of learning, we hope that the scholarships that the students receive today will be a great source of encouragement, giving them wings to fly higher and further on the path of learning, and later become talented people, serving and contributing to the Fatherland."

Dr. Esperan Padonou, Director of the Vallet Scholarship Fund, said that Professor Odon Vallet will continue to maintain the Vallet Scholarship Fund for another 100 years. In particular, the value of the scholarships will be increased annually to help and support students on their path of study and scientific research, and that value will continue to increase as long as the Vallet Scholarship Fund is in operation. The Fund will also continue to accompany Vietnam in awarding meaningful scholarships to poor students who overcome difficulties and excel in urban, mountainous, remote, border, island, and ethnic minority areas...

Speaking to congratulate and share the joy with the students receiving Vallet scholarships in 2024, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, expressed his gratitude for the affection, care and practical help of the Science and Education Association "Meet Vietnam", Vallet Scholarship Fund, Professor Odon Vallet and the couple Professor Tran Thanh Van - Le Kim Ngoc, the Organizing Committee, and members of the delegation for students from the three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province Hoang Xuan Tan believes that the Vallet scholarship will truly promote the effect of cultivating morality, training talent, and encouraging talent development for students receiving this scholarship; at the same time, he hopes that students receiving the Vallet scholarship in 2024 will further promote their achievements in study, research and throughout their lives to not disappoint the kindness of Professor Odon Vallet, Professor Tran Thanh Van and his wife and the organization "Meeting Vietnam" as well as the efforts of their families and teachers who have cared for and taught them; contributing their efforts and intelligence to build their homeland and country to become more and more prosperous.

At the ceremony, 212 excellent students from the three provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh received Vallet scholarships in 2024; the total value is nearly 3.5 billion VND. Of which, the value of each scholarship for students is 29 million VND/student and for pupils is 15 million VND/student.

Tran Minh Hoang, a student of grade 11 Mathematics at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, Ha Tinh province, happily shared: “Receiving this valuable award, for me in particular and other students, is not only a significant material support but also a great source of spiritual encouragement; motivating us to have more determination and confidence to overcome difficulties, realize our dreams and ambitions, step by step contribute our talents and intelligence to the development of our homeland, country and social progress. We remind ourselves to try our best to study well, practice hard, and be worthy of everyone's trust and love.”

From 2001 to 2024, with the companionship and assistance of Professor Odon Vallet, the “Meet Vietnam” Science and Education Association has awarded more than 55,000 scholarships to excellent students with outstanding achievements in Vietnam, with a total amount of about 500 billion VND; helped many excellent students with difficult circumstances; encouraged, motivated and created conditions to support and motivate them to be more steadfast and confident in their studies.

In 2024 alone, the “Meet Vietnam” Science and Education Association will continue to award scholarships to over 2,000 excellent students and postgraduates nationwide, with a value of over 40 billion VND.

In Quang Binh, in addition to scholarships for pupils and students, recently, the Science and Education Association "Meeting Vietnam" has also paid attention to sponsoring the construction of facilities for units and schools and providing books for libraries in Quang Binh.../.
