Awarding nearly 400 scholarships to poor but studious students

On February 6, Soc Trang Provincial Association for Promotion of Education coordinated with Soc Trang Provincial Lottery Company Limited to award 397 Luong Dinh Cua scholarships for promoting learning and talent in 2023 to outstanding poor students who have achieved high prizes in competitions, with a total amount of more than 1.3 billion VND.

Mr. Lam Van Man, Secretary of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee, awarded scholarships to students.

Of these, there are 344 scholarships (each worth 3 million VND) for outstanding studious students studying at universities nationwide; 50 scholarships (each worth 5 million VND) for students who passed the university entrance exam, had the highest total score in 3 subjects in the province and 3 scholarships for the group of authors who won first prize in the provincial "Youth and Children's Creativity" contest (7 million VND/scholarship).

Ms. Huynh Thi Diem Ngoc, Vice Chairwoman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee, said that the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Soc Trang province always pay attention to promoting learning and talent. The scholarships demonstrate humanity, aiming to encourage and motivate students with difficult circumstances to continue studying well and become intellectuals, contributing to the development of Soc Trang homeland.

Representative of Soc Trang Lottery One Member Co., Ltd. presented a symbolic plaque to support 5 billion VND to the Soc Trang Province Education Promotion Fund.

According to Ms. Huynh Thi Diem Ngoc, in 2023, the Association for Promotion of Education at all levels in Soc Trang province awarded more than 52,200 scholarships to poor and studious students, with a total amount of more than 51 billion VND. In addition, the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education also mobilized the construction and awarding of 4 houses for outstanding studious students who overcame difficulties in housing, each worth 70 million VND.

At the scholarship awarding ceremony, Soc Trang Lottery Company Limited presented a symbolic plaque to support 5 billion VND to the Soc Trang Provincial Education Promotion Fund in 2024.
