Dismantling a ring buying and selling and transporting 30 kg of marijuana from Thailand and Laos into Huong Hoa district

This morning, June 27, information from the Customs Branch of Region IX said that the unit had just coordinated with other forces to successfully destroy a special case coded MT 379, fighting 4 cases, arresting 3 subjects and seizing about 30 kg of marijuana.

Accordingly, from May 19 to May 31, the task force coordinated with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (PC04) of Quang Tri Provincial Police; PC04 of Hanoi City Police; PC04 of Ho Chi Minh City Police; PC04 of Ha Tinh Provincial Police; the Anti-smuggling Investigation Department, the Customs Department to successfully fight 4 cases, arrest 3 subjects and seize about 30 kg of marijuana in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Tinh.

Currently, all exhibits and related subjects have been handed over to the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Hanoi City Police; PC04 of Ha Tinh Province Police and PC04 of Ho Chi Minh City Police to continue to expand the investigation and clarify.

Previously, through screening and information collection, the Customs Control Team of the Customs Branch of Region IX discovered a drug trafficking and transportation ring from Thailand and Laos to Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province, then transported to provinces and cities in the country for consumption. The subjects packaged marijuana in candy boxes, then put them in cardboard boxes mixed with groceries, to disguise and transport them from Laos.

To avoid detection, the subjects traded in virtual currency; used online express delivery service applications to hire delivery people, then transported the goods to many locations, on many means of transport; at the receiving points, they assigned supervisors.
