On the morning of April 30, 2025 - exactly 50 years since the country was reunited, the heart of Ho Chi Minh City was awakened by the resounding trumpets and the bustling and heroic drums of the parades.

From early morning, tens of thousands of people poured into the city center. In their hands were red flags with yellow stars, on their shirts were the national emblem, and in their hearts was deep pride.

After 50 years, thousands of footsteps once again thronged Le Duan Street, heading towards the Reunification Hall. This time, there was no longer the atmosphere of war, no longer the image of the Liberation Army tank crashing through the main gate - ending a war that lasted more than two decades. Today, the Reunification Hall is where thousands of people gathered in a festive atmosphere, where history, the present and the future intersect.

13,000 people from the elite armed forces and representatives of the people from all walks of life walked across the stage. Squadrons of dozens of Su-30MK2 fighters and helicopters flew through the clouds, dropping disturbances in the sky of Ho Chi Minh City.

The elderly quietly wiped away their tears as they saw the army marching past, the children sitting on their fathers’ shoulders waving flags in salute, and the young people standing at attention saluting the flag. All of this created a scene that was both majestic and intimate.

They did not come just to “watch” the parade, but to relive, to meet history again - not through books, but right in the heart of the city, amidst the sound of military music, amidst the steady footsteps of the armed forces advancing across the stage.

To have such a perfect ceremony, tens of thousands of people have been quietly preparing for many months. Each formation practiced under the scorching sun, each squadron tested their flight in the sky. Sound system, television, security, logistics, all coordinated in harmony like a symphony of dedication and responsibility.

It's not just about event planning, it's about gratitude for the past and appreciation for the present.

A special highlight of this year's parade is the participation of honorary troops from China, Laos and Cambodia - three countries with long-standing traditional friendship with Vietnam.

Inviting friendly countries to participate in the parade alongside Vietnamese forces shows an open Vietnam, ready to cooperate for peace , stability and regional development.

And today, May 1, Hanoi suddenly poured down a heavy rain, like “rain washing the temple”, a belated but profound congratulation from nature. If April 30 was a majestic symphony in the bright sunshine, then today is the “aftertaste”, the rain seemed to wash away all worries, leaving only gratitude and spreading faith.

Many people say jokingly and meaningfully: "The sky waited until the ceremony was over before it rained, probably wanting to celebrate with the country ." It may be just a coincidence, but in the spirit of a great anniversary, Vietnamese people believe that nature does not stand aside, but seems to breathe the same rhythm as people.

The sky was clear when the ceremony began. It rained gently when the ceremony ended. Just that alone was enough to show that nature had understood people's hearts. The whole world seemed to bow before half a century of peace, before people who knew how to cherish history and live for the future.
