Stock market September 29: VIC, VHM pull VN-Index up

The stock market today (September 29) has improved liquidity, the VN-Index increased 5.78 points to 1,686.48 points.

At the end of today's trading session, VN-Index increased by 5.78 points (+0.35%) to 1,686.48 points. Liquidity on HoSE reached nearly VND28,314 billion, equivalent to more than 1.009 billion shares matched. In contrast, HNX-Index lost 0.91 points (-0.33%) to 275.15 points; UPCoM-Index decreased by 1.34 points (-1.21%) to 109.29 points.

Notably, stocks that contributed positively to the increase in today's trading session were: VIC (+5.37%), VHM (+2.93%), GEX (+4.53%), HDB (+2.49%), SHS (+2.43%), VPB (+2.3%).

On the contrary, the adjustment pressure mainly focused on VJC (-2.11%),SHB (-2.33%), SSI (-1.18%), FPT (-2.05%), DGC (-1.47%) and some other slightly decreasing codes, but the amplitude was generally not large.

HoSE recorded 86 codes increased and 233 codes decreased, 55 codes stood at reference price.

Foreign capital continued to maintain a net selling status, putting great pressure on the market. Specifically, foreign investors bought 2,348 billion VND but sold up to 3,097 billion VND, net selling value reached 749 billion VND. Net selling volume was more than 27.26 million shares.

Net selling focused on large-cap and high-liquidity stocks. SSI led with a net selling value of -174.64 billion VND, followed by DIG (-138.27 billion VND), VNM (-114.5 billion VND), MBB (-81.12 billion VND), DXG (-87.71 billion VND). In addition, SHB (-60.19 billion VND), MWG (-57.47 billion VND), PDR (-63.88 billion VND), VIX (-79.25 billion VND) and MSN (-47.71 billion VND) also recorded significant selling pressure.

Previously, at the end of the morning session, VN-Index increased by 8.06 points (0.49%) to 1,668.75 points, HNX-Index increased by 0.48 points (0.17%) to 276.54 points, while UPCoM-Index decreased by 0.12 points (0.11%) to 110.51 points. The main driving force came from the pair of "Vin family" stocks including VIC and VHM. Although cooling down compared to the peak of the session, both codes still increased by more than 4%.
