Step by step growth
75 years ago, on December 30, 1949, in the revolutionary base area of Bac Tra My, Tak Kot Party Cell was established with 9 party members, with comrade Ho Truyen as Secretary.
The establishment of the Tak Kot Party Cell (the present-day Tra Kot Commune Party Committee) was of great significance, encouraging the spirit, will, and revolutionary movement of local cadres, people, and compatriots. Through many hardships and sacrifices, the revolutionary movement grew stronger and stronger, contributing to the cause of liberating the homeland.
Mr. Duong Lai - former Chairman of Tra Kot Commune People's Committee recalled that during the difficult war, people here were hungry, lacked clothes, and were often robbed, so life was extremely miserable.
Since the establishment of the Party Cell, the people have trusted and followed the Party's leadership, determined to gain peace and independence. Among them, a number of struggles of the people of Tra Kot commune have strongly encouraged the spirit and ignited the revolutionary fighting spirit of the people of Tra My at that time.
Mr. Lai said: “The Party cell was established to lead the government and all classes of people to increase production, cultivation, and livestock raising. Implementing the policy of the superiors, each cadre and party member set an example in propaganda work, mobilizing young people to join the army, mobilizing all classes of people to participate in frontline labor, transporting goods to serve the revolution, contributing food and provisions to the army and supporting the southern battlefield.
Despite the sacrifices, the revolutionary will of the Party members and the people was not dampened, waiting for the final victory. After liberation, the Party, the government and the people united to build the homeland, gradually eradicating illiteracy and hunger. Up to now, people's lives have improved much more than before.
Through each period of development, Tra Kot Commune Party Committee currently has 2 village Party cells and 4 agency Party cells, with 134 Party members. From the beginning of the 2020 - 2025 term up to now, the Commune Party Committee always has more than 90% of Party members completing their tasks well, 90% of Party cells completing their tasks well, and the Party Committee always completes its annual tasks well.
The Commune Party Committee has launched patriotic emulation movements to deploy, propagate and mobilize people of all walks of life to successfully implement the Resolution of the Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
Caring for people's lives
With the policy of "Party members go first, the country follows", the Party Committee and the government of Tra Kot commune have called for the pioneering and exemplary spirit of party members in building and developing the economy. For example, Mr. Tran Kim Duong (Co ethnic group, village 2, Tra Kot commune), who has been a party member for 40 years, is still enthusiastically working in production with the spirit of a soldier of Uncle Ho's army.
Mr. Duong said: “Party members must go first and do things first so that the people will trust and follow. During the war, they volunteered to join the revolution and fight to protect every inch of their homeland; now in peacetime, they must produce to end poverty. Whatever crops they grow or whatever animals they raise, they must know how to apply techniques to achieve productivity. The commune and district guide and support, but the people must also strive to achieve results.”
Over time, the poverty rate of Tra Kot commune has decreased year by year, currently there are 165 poor households (42.53%). People's lives have gradually improved, all economic and social aspects have developed step by step. In cultivation, promoting the application of science and technology, increasing production efficiency, upgrading and investing in construction and repair of irrigation works to ensure irrigation water for rice fields. Tra Kot has gradually replaced bare land and bare hills, increasing annual forest cover, including reforestation of an average of 200 - 300 hectares/year.
The total area put into annual production of the commune is 127.5 hectares, of which 82.5 hectares are wet rice, with an average yield of 5 tons/hectare. The whole commune has more than 5,300 livestock and poultry. The average income per capita is estimated at 25 million VND/year.
To build a new rural commune, people responded with consensus, donated land and assets on land to build welfare facilities. Tra Kot has achieved 16/19 criteria for a new rural commune.
Mr. Pham Van Tuan - Secretary of Tra Kot Commune Party Committee said: "The Party Committee, government and people of Tra Kot Commune have unanimously built the commune based on the support resources of the province, district and the contributions of the people. The development of the commune in many fields such as Party building, economy, society, education, cultural preservation of ethnic minorities...
The emulation movements to build Tra Kot commune all originate from local realities and the will of the people to succeed. The ultimate goal is to bring a prosperous life to the people, gradually building a new rural commune in the next term.
