TPO - Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, sent a congratulatory letter for the new school year 2024 - 2025 to students when the school canceled the Opening Ceremony to save funds to support people in flood-affected areas.
In the letter, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan wrote: "Typhoon Yagi disrupted the opening ceremony and welcoming new students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Like the students, the teachers are truly regretful about a warm annual event of the University, which was supposed to take place on the occasion of the full moon in August this year.

Regret, however, is just a passing feeling of everyday life. It is quickly replaced by the warmth of human love with thoughtful greetings and timely donations, for the sake of "national love and compatriotism" as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for.
Mr. Tuan said that the school had canceled the opening ceremony and combined the funds with donations, of which 200 million VND was sent to the people through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Hanoi National University; 348 million VND went to 116 students of the school who were in difficulty due to storms and floods; more than 1 billion VND that partners sponsored for students on the occasion of the new school year 2024-2025 will continue to be considered by the school and granted to students with excellent academic achievements, policy beneficiaries, and those in difficult circumstances...
On behalf of the School, Mr. Tuan thanked the teachers and students for their sympathy in flexibly adjusting the unit's teaching plan to adapt to the recent natural disasters.
