Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City visits former political prisoners and war invalids in Con Dao special zone

On July 16, the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City led by Comrade Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City, offered incense and flowers at Hang Duong Cemetery and visited former political prisoners in Con Dao Special Zone on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).

The delegation included comrades Huynh Thi Phuc, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City; and representatives of the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City.

The delegation came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Hang Duong Cemetery. In a solemn atmosphere, the members of the delegation observed a moment of silence to remember and offer incense with respect to the souls of the ancestors, heroic martyrs, and patriotic compatriots. After the ceremony of offering flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs, the delegates burned incense to the martyrs resting at Hang Duong Cemetery.

Continuing the journey, the delegation visited and presented gifts to former political prisoner Nguyen Xuan Vien (born in 1944, residential area number 7) and war invalid Tran Van Tam (born in 1940, residential area number 7).

At each destination, Comrade Nguyen Van Loi kindly talked with and listened to the memories of the individuals about a difficult but proud resistance war. On behalf of the delegation, Comrade Nguyen Van Loi expressed his deep gratitude for the sacrifices and great contributions of former political prisoners, war invalids, martyrs... in the cause of national liberation and reunification.

Visiting officers and soldiers of the Defense Command of Region 6 - Con Dao Special Zone (Ho Chi Minh City Command), the Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City acknowledged the sense of responsibility and close coordination between the armed forces and the locality in the past time. Comrade Nguyen Van Loi hopes that the unit will continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, improve the quality of training, care for the lives of officers and soldiers, contributing to building an increasingly solid defense posture in the region.
